At the Ramsays
Madge despairs that Harold can even consider moving back in with Mrs Mangel after the way she spoke to her that morning. He explains that Mrs Mangel is upset because of Jane going to America. Madge warns him that she is upset too - and her precious Jane is the reason. Helen and Jim arrive, preventing the wedding being called off again. Helen congratulates them on their engagement and says she's glad some couples have come to their senses. Jim explains that's why they've really come round - to sort out Scott and Charlene. Harold agrees, he thinks they have an obligation to help them out. Helen worries that they'll make things worse, Scott and Charlene are adults, not naughty school children. Jim says whatever they decide, they must present a united front.

Henry is round to sort out the lawns. He asks Eileen if she's decided anything about Sally moving in. She declares it is none of his business. He insists it is - he's very keen on Sally and he was the one who asked Des if she could move in. Eileen is relieved to hear it wasn't Des's idea but says there are plenty of other places she could find nearby. Henry turns on the charm and says she is too shy, she needs a mother figure. He (accidentally on purpose) lets slip that she cries herself to sleep every night. Eileen is concerned, particularly when she is told Sally is thinking of moving back to Newcastle. She will have to run the coffee shop on her own...
At the coffee shop
Sally chastises Mike for his fight with Scott. He doesn't want to talk about it. He goes searching for the account book and finds Sally's Learn to Cook book. She confesses that she made up the catering course because she needed a job. Mike points out that she'll get caught out eventually and she should come clean to Des. She goes into the shop where Henry tells her he's talked Mrs Clarke into letting her stay, with one catch - she thinks they have a big thing going on and they'll have to act like it's true. Sally puts her arms round him and agrees that she can manage that.

The family conference is still going on and they eventually decide Jim will talk to Scott and Harold to Charlene. Madge says that won't work - she has been talking to Charlene until she's blue in the face. Unfortunately Charlene is now standing behind her and tells her not to stop now - she gets angry at them discussing her problems behind her back and reminds Madge about how upset she was when she thought she saw Harold kissing Mrs Clarke. Harold says that proves his point - that was totally innocent. Charlene asks him how he would feel if he saw Madge kissing Rob Lewis now they are engaged again, and what would happen if she said she was attracted to him? (Madge is outraged) He would call off the engagement and he knows he would. Point made, she walks out of the room. Jim asks if Harold still thinks all those two need is a good fatherly talking to.
At the Clarkes
Eileen and Sally are playing scrabble when Des comes home. He says he didn't know they were expecting visitors and Eileen tells him Sally isn't a visitor, she's staying with them. He is pleased. Eileen says everything is sorted, she's moved Sally into the nursery, she's taken Des's room and Des can share with Harold. Des isn't pleased anymore.
DES: Hang on, have you heard the way he snores?
EILEEN: I certainly have. It comes right through the wall. But now I've moved into your room I'm a little further away. Your turn Sally.
At the Robinsons
Helen is machining some material. She tells Jim Scott is really far behind with his studying at the moment. Jim agrees. He mentions that he has other worries too - Greg is thinking of leaving. Helen moans that that's the last thing Charlene needs - she's going through enough without losing her apprenticeship too. She tells Jim she is glad Charlene asked Harold how he would have felt in her position, not her, as she wouldn't have been able to come up with a good reason why Scott should be forgiven. Jim tries to defend Scott but she reminds him how bad it feels to find out someone has been unfaithful. He thinks of Beverly but says he has to be there for Scott. She says of course, but they may have to face the fact that the marriage is over.
In Charlene and Scott's room
Charlene lies on her side of the bed and looks over to Scott's (empty) side. Sad, slowed down Neighbours theme plays as she cries and strokes his pillow, then turns away and cries more.
At the Clarkes
Des is making hot milk when Sally comes in and talks to him. He doesn't answer so she touches his back. He jumps a mile as he had ear plugs in. He says even they don't block out Harold's snoring (which we can hear in the back ground). They sit down talking about how they would have been sneaking out for midnight snacks before now if they'd grown up together. Des says the important thing now is to keep it from Eileen - who pops up in the background. She is astounded that they are both up, in their night clothes! People will gossip! She sends them both off to bed.
At the Ramsays
Charlene runs into the kitchen, late for work. Madge says she needed the rest. Charlene says she needs her job more - she's not chucking in her apprenticeship because of Scott, she'll need it if she's a single girl again. She flippantly comments that 7 out of 10 teenage marriages end in divorce and she's starting to get used to it. Madge is distraught and walks out. Henry has a go at Charlene and says Madge is worried sick about her and Scott.
At the workshop
Jim asks Greg why he is leaving, is it the money? Greg insists not, Erinsborough just isn't the right place for him. Jim tells him he'll have to be the one to tell Charlene, he uses emotional blackmail to let him know exactly how disappointed she'll be. Greg agrees that he'll stay on.
At the Clarkes
Eileen is fussing that Sally and Des haven't had breakfast. Des says he will grab a doughnut at the coffee shop. They both overslept because they couldn't sleep. Harold comes in and remarks on what a good night's sleep he's had. Des - "So I heard." Harold apologises for being a terrible trial.
Outside
Mike is getting his bike out of the garage and asks Des how things are going. Des says he knew what he was doing when he went to Mrs Mangel's - getting away from Harold's snoring. Mike says that's backfired now Jane's gone. He mentions that he's looking forward to moving back home. Des agrees that's a good deal. He mentions that he'd heard about Mike and Scott "discussing" Jane.
MIKE: Yeah alright, tell me I'm an idiot and fighting doesn't solve anything
DES: You're an idiot and fighting doesn't solve anything.
He realises he's late for work and tries to start the car. It won't go.
At the Ramsays
Helen and Madge are talking about Scott and Charlene again. Helen thinks they need independent help, a marriage guidance counsellor. Madge isn't so sure. Henry suggests that he could help, he'll talk her into it.
At the workshop
Charlene is working herself into the ground in an effort to keep busy. Greg insists she take a break - how is he supposed to teach her anything if she won't wait until he can show her? He sends her off to make coffee, he wants one even if she doesn't. While she is gone Des turns up in his car. He sees Greg - "I don't flamin' believe it, Greg Cooper!"
