- Aaron going to confront Gareth when he's changing the blown out tyre.
- Gareth thumping the defenceless Aaron to a pulp.
- Freya fearful that Gareth is going to kill her too.
- David coming across the unconscious and beaten up Aaron lying by the roadside.
- Freya swerving to miss Levi and running straight into a tree.
- Gareth lying on the ground having gone through the windscreen of the minibus.
- Freya explaining to David what happened as he goes to administer first aid to Gareth.
- Freya saying to David that Gareth was going to kill her and confirming he was the one responsible for what happened to Aaron.
Freya finishes being sick as David takes the unused OPA from the ground and throws it into the bush. The pair keep looking to each other but neither says a word.
Gareth's body is put into an ambulance as David gets an update on how Aaron is doing - he has a fractured skull, broken ribs and abdominal haematoma but is thankfully stable. He's adding in about Aaron being transported to Erinsborough Hospital when Glen arrives and checks on how they are doing. Freya wants to know if Gareth has hurt anyone else and thankfully he hasn't. He explains that police are trying to piece together what has happened and Freya offers to show them where the shooting took place. We hear that Nicolette is packing everyone's stuff up, Kiri is arranging their transportation home, and Bobby is out looking for Ned and Harlow.
GLEN: Some holiday!
Terese, Chloe and Leo are trying to figure out their tender but get distracted with Kyle rushing out of the bar after getting a phonecall. Toadie is in the bar too and starts to fret after getting a similar call (from Amy).
A breathless Kyle rushes into the hospital and is surprised to see Levi coolly sitting in a wheelchair. Levi reassures Kyle that his arm is fine, and he's been given the once- over by the doctors too about his epilepsy. Kyle feels frustrated that Levi didn't heed his warnings about Freya, but he isn't in the mood for talking, keen instead to get home.
Chloe and Leo arrive, eager to hear news about Aaron. Levi confirms that he is in the hospital and was talking too, which he sees as being positive.
Rather than wait at the hospital, Amy has come home and is being supported by Toadie and Zara as well as the K's. Everyone is struggling to comprehend what happened at River Bend.
Chloe (and Leo) seek David out for an update on behalf of Mark and Tyler too, who are also worried about their brother. She is confused over the message passed on by Levi that what happened involved Freya's boyfriend.
DAVID: I was wrong about him. He kidnapped her. Aaron tried to intervene. Gareth used a wrench.
LEO: Did they catch him?
DAVID: He's dead.
Chloe heads off to update her brothers and Leo reassures his brother than Aaron will be okay.
DAVID: I really need him to be.
Seconds later we see Aaron being wheeled on a trolley along the corridor. David quickly grabs his hand and walks alongside as the trolley is pushed into one of the rooms.
Offscreen, Amy has updated everyone with what she knows adding how David and herself stumbled across it. Tearfully she adds that taking Aaron to hospital was "the longest drive of my life," asking Levi continuously if Aaron was still breathing. Susan reassures her the main thing was she got help for Aaron. Karl offers to call the hospital to for an update on Aaron, but Amy is now worried about someone else - Ned because he's not contacted her. Toadie suggests it's probably due to things being chaotic up there but is sure he will call when he can do so.
Jane has come to the hospital with some bits and pieces for Aaron and news that Nicolette is home. Chloe asks how he is doing, and Aaron's reply is that his head "is a construction site and everybody has a jackhammer."
Jane comments that David being there was like "divine intervention," but the man himself can't stand to listen anymore and rushes out of the room. "He's pretty shaken," is Chloe's explanation for David rushing outside.
Aaron then says he's got pins and needles and his arm then starts shaking. Chloe rushes out of the room to tell David that something is wrong and the pair quickly go back into the room. David tells Jane to go get Aaron's doctor but seconds later, Aaron starts convulsing, so David now yells out for the crash cart!
Hendrix and Mackenzie are hanging out when Freya surprises them by arriving home unexpectedly. He then notices the mess her face is in, and asks what happened.
Glen and Terese are chatting about what happened when Amy arrives looking for Ned. Terese replies he isn't home yet but will get him to call as soon as he's home. Glen doesn't think that will be anytime soon, given how chaotic things were up there. Terese asks what Ned (and Harlow) said about what happened but turns out Glen hasn't spoken to them. Amy wants reassurance that Ned is okay, and when he's coming home, so Glen passes on Kiri's contact details. Likewise, Terese goes to call Harlow.
Kyle is the one fulfilling Sheila's role by trying to make sure that Levi eats to keep his strength up. Levi though isn't interested in eating and much to Kyle's annoyance, wants to go see Freya.
KYLE: You don't owe her anything.
LEVI: It's not about owing her Kyle,
Mackenzie and Hendrix are chatting quietly about what happened when Freya comes out from having a shower. Seconds later Levi arrives, the pair very much pleased to see him before bailing out to let him talk privately with Freya.
After silently looking at each other for a few seconds, it's Levi who breaks the silence by asking how she is. Freya's reply is that she is "so sorry" and admits that she thought both he and Aaron were dead.
FREYA: I'll never be able to apologise to you enough.
LEVI: I didn't come here for an apology. I just want to know if you're okay.
Chloe, Jane and Leo are impatiently waiting for an update when David comes out with news - Aaron has a blood clot on his brain and has been rushed in surgery. Chloe can't believe it was missed and David's explanation is that it was something that developed slowly and didn't appear on the CT scan. "Are they worried about brain damage?" Chloe asks and the reply is "it's a risk," but Leo hopes catching it soon will work in Aaron's favour.
David starts to cry over the fact he won't get the chance to apologise to Aaron and say how much he's loved, before eventually breaking down in Leo's arms.
Levi updates Freya with what the police are doing - they're tracking the gang members as well as the woman who was with Gareth. Freya is more taking it in than replying, which causes Levi to be fearful of mentioning Gareth's name in her presence.
FREYA: He shot you, you can say 'Gareth' as much as you want!
LEVI: Yes, but it's still full on Freya.
LEVI: Look, I was worried that you'd be a lot more freaked out
FREYA: I mean, I guess I feel kind of like an idiot. Like I'm embarrassed. I've known Gareth since I was a kid and I watched him turn his entire life around. I abandoned my entire family for him. And we built a life together, and now all of a sudden, I'm... apparently I just didn't even know him at all. And you know what the weirdest thing is, is, like... I don't actually feel anything towards him. I know I should, I should feel everything, but I'm just kind of like...numb.
Levi stands up as if going to comfort her, but she stops him. "I don't really know what I need right now," other than being "by myself" she says to him. He is fine with what she's said, reassuring her that if she needs anything, he will be "here for you."
Freya arrives to see what is happening. David updates her about Aaron and she's grateful that it happened at the hospital.
DAVID: What if this is because of me? Karma for letting Gareth die.
FREYA: Keep your voice down.
DAVID: I took a life and now Aaron could lose his in return.
FREYA: You didn't kill anyone.
DAVID: Doctors swear an oath.
FREYA: Whatever happened, it was both of us, okay?
DAVID: Except I'm the only one who's paying because I vowed to never let anything come between me and my duty to a patient.
FREYA: He was a patient who tried to kill your husband.
DAVID: Even so, I could have saved Gareth but I didn't. What does that make me?
Before they can say any more, Leo rushes out with the news that Aaron is out of surgery.
Toadie trying to get Amy out of the depression she is in by having snacks and cocktails but she isn't interested. She also rejects Zara's suggestion of taking a nap too.
TOADIE: Aaron's in good hands. I'm sure we're going to hear something soon.
Terese (and Glen) pop over to see if any has heard from Ned or Harlow as it's been "complete radio silence," from the pair. Amy replies she's not heard anything and nor from Kiri either. "Okay, this is officially getting a bit weird, isn't it?" Toadie comments and everyone is really starting to fret at the pair not having returned home.
After getting Kiri's voicemail again, Amy says aloud that they "shouldn't panic, right?" before then adding that her nerves "are officially shot, so someone's going to have to tell me when to panic."
Freya stands watching outside Aaron's room as David sits by the unconscious Aaron stroking his hand before going outside to talk to her. He beings by saying that they think they've got all the blood clot out but won't know for certain until Aaron wakes up.
FREYA: Well, whatever happens, you need to know this is not your fault. Gareth tried to kill your husband, and then he left him for dead - that wasn't you.
DAVID: That's exactly what I did to Gareth.
FREYA: There was absolutely nothing.
DAVID (interrupting): There was a chance
FREYA: No there wasn't! you are a good doctor, and you know that his injuries were too far gone. Yeah? Besides, Gareth doesn't deserve our sympathy. He is a criminal. He is a liar and I'm done with being a victim. I am over it, so we need to put this behind us, otherwise he wins. Do you understand? And that means keeping it to ourselves.
DAVID: I don't know if I can.
FREYA: Bury it! Focus on your husband. He needs you.
Levi gingerly comes out his bedroom and joins Kyle on the sofa, complaining that his knee is now hurting him.
Music montage time
As 'Hurts 2B human' starts, at #26, we see Freya looking at a photo's of Gareth on her phone. Terese is fretting at #22 while Glen looks at the tattoo on his foot. At #26, Kyle admits that he is worried about Levi but he is worried about Freya! Back with Freya and the lyrics are very apt as she smashes her phone on the kitchen worktop causing the screen to shatter.
Much to David's relief, Aaron starts to waken up. "Hey, you had us worried," David tenderly says to his husband
DAVID: I'm so sorry. I was such an idiot. But I love you so much.
AARON: I Love you too.
Amy (and Toadie) come over to tell Terese and Glen that she finally got through to Kiri - she and Bobby were out looking for Ned and Harlow but can't find them. Given they've not been seen since before the bus crash, the fear is that Gareth has got to them.
AMY: We don't know what else he's done out there.
TOADIE: Let's not jump to any conclusions, okay.
AMY: You know, she sounded pretty worried and it's going to be night soon, and Ned and Harlow are missing.
Everyone suddenly has a concerned look on their face!
