Number 26
Freya promises Levi if he helps her he'll get the truth from here on out. Levi doesn't understand why Gareth's family isn't searching for him, but Freya says they passed away when he was young. Her own family don't like Gareth so, "they won't care", and after her place got broken into Freya didn't want to involve her friends in case they got hurt. "Oh, but it was fine to hurt me, right?" Levi says incredulously.
FREYA: Look, I said I was sorry. Gareth had a really tough childhood, he has no one else in his corner and I really need to find him.
LEVI: (showing Freya the door) There's nothing I can do about it. You should go.
Freya leaves, but Levi can't help look conflicted about not helping.
Harold's Café
Hendrix leaves a voicemail for the jewellery company about his missing pendant, saying he'll chase it up again in the morning. Sadie and Aubrey rock up to see Zara, itching to see the necklace. When Hendrix goes into the kitchen, Zara shows the girls and says she's not wearing it because they're still "keeping things on the dl". She doesn't want them mentioning anything to Hendrix either, she hasn't told him they know yet. Hendrix returns and offers to close up the Café himself if Zara wants to head out with her friends, but Zara smiles and says they'll get it done quicker together.
Number 26
The next morning Levi has filled Kyle in on Freya's late night visit to ask him for help. Kyle thinks it's rich that Freya would even think to ask after all the lies she told. Levi then comments on all the mess in the kitchen and Kyle says he made Roxy breakfast in bed because she's still mad at him. Levi's annoyed because there's no food left for him so Kyle says he'll shout him a meal.
LEVI: Clean up your mess. Gran is going to lose it if she wakes up to this.
KYLE: I doubt she'll be up for a while. When I got up first thing this morning to go to the toilet she was still on the phone to Nomes.
Kyle can see Levi's still stewing about Freya, but Levi can't help mulling over what Freya said about corrupt cops. If what she claims is true, then he has a duty to report it. "Which means you might end up helping her," Kyle points out. "Conscience cleared!"
The Pavilion
Amy brings Jane and David their juices from her drinks van and says Jane's is on the house for all the trouble Freya has caused lately. Amy also apologises for telling Zara about the teddy cam in the first place and hopes there's no hard feelings. "Well I'll be able to answer that once the so-called debacle is actually over," Jane replies. Toadie, who is helping Amy, is concerned that the school kids are still giving Jane grief. David says it's been a tough couple of days for Jane, but at least Abigail and Isla are cheering her up somewhat. When David and Jane leave, Amy mutters to Toadie that Jane still hates her.
The Waterhole
Levi tells Kyle that making the report about the police has been a weight off his mind. Kyle sees Freya approach the bar and asks Levi if he should "go full gran and toss her out", but Levi decides to go over and sort things out. When Levi makes a remark about stalking him, Freya retorts that if her tracking skills were that good he wouldn't be the guy she was after. She then realises she got overly snarky and apologises for being rude, assuring him she's only getting a coffee.
LEVI: Good, because I've done all that I can. I've launched an official request for IBAC to look into the Echuca police.
FREYA: What?
LEVI: They're the anti-corruption commission.
FREYA: Is this your way of getting back at me?
LEVI: Getting back at you? No, this is the right way to go.
FREYA: Okay, so now the Echuca police will know I'm on to them. And they'll be able to trace Gareth back to Erinsborough, yeah?
LEVI: You asked for my help and I helped.
FREYA: No, the only thing you've done is put Gareth in even more danger. So thank you.
She angrily walks out, not even waiting for her coffee, while Kyle throws Levi a confused look.
Erinsborough High
Zara brags to Sadie and Aubrey that she doesn't need photos of Hendrix when she has him in the flesh. Sadie says she's changed her phone screen saver so it scrolls through all her Hendrix pics. "There's thirsty and then there's flat out pervy," Aubrey says. Sadie notices Jane watching them from down the hall and quietly says at least she's not 'hiding a camera in his house' kind of pervy. Jane tells the girls to get to class, which they comply with, but they make snide comments under the breath on the way past which gets under Jane's skin.
Number 26
Levi doesn't get why Freya's angry with him - she asked him for help, and he helped. Kyle comments that Roxy's still mad with him too, which might take a few more breakfasts to sort out. Roxy emerges from the hall and tells Levi that he can't keep sitting around and moping about Freya. She thinks he and Kyle should go on a little road trip, and it'll give her and Sheila some peace and quiet too.
Erinsborough High - Susan's Office
Susan asks Jane what the girls said specifically about her. Jane admits she doesn't know the specifics but it definitely felt like they were laughing at her. "Maybe I'm just being over-sensitive," she adds. "I'm just not used to students knowing so much about my personal life." Susan asks her how she handled the situation and is pleased when Jane says she instructed them to get to class as that meant she didn't give them the reaction they wanted. Jane was just hoping everything would have blown over by now.
SUSAN: It will, Jane, you've just got to be patient. For what it's worth I felt exactly the same when the book about Finn came out, but you've just got to keep rising above it. Keep asserting your authority. Things will get better.
The Pavilion
Amy thinks she should get Jane a fruit basket to say sorry, but Toadie thinks if she really wants to cheer Jane up then she could work on getting Zara to fess up to the teddy prank. But Amy doesn't believe Zara did it. And aside from gossiping, she thinks Zara has been relatively good lately. Hendrix and Mackenzie drop by and Amy asks how Zara's getting on at work. Hendrix says she's been good and even offered to work late last night, which surprises Amy and Toadie. "See, if she was on a teenage rampage she would be doing that everywhere and not just with Jane," Amy says.
Frankston
Kyle and Levi huddle under a picnic pavilion after Frankston turned on the rain for their visit. The drive hasn't picked up Levi's mood, though, as he's mulling over all his relationship stuff ups. Kyle points out that Levi has done nothing wrong, it was Freya conning him the whole time.
LEVI: Is that supposed to make me feel any better?
KYLE: What were you going to do? You couldn't have guessed that in a million years.
LEVI: Maybe not. But dude, all my relationships are failures. Bea, Felicity, Amy-
KYLE: You know what, that happens sometimes. Doesn't mean it's your fault.
LEVI: I'm the only common denominator.
Kyle knows it sucks but it just means he's figuring out what's right for him. And he's got to stop letting Freya mess with his mind because Cannings are made of tough stuff. Levi gives his cousin a begrudging smile.
Erinsborough High
Jane finishes writing something on the whiteboard and is startled when she turns around to find half the class filming her on their phones. She sternly tells them to turn them off, but Louis claims he doesn't know how to. While Sadie, Aubrey and Zara don't have their phones out, they're still sitting there smirking. "She looks like she's about to cry," Sadie says, while Jane shouts at them to stop filming. "Would you prefer if we only filmed you using a teddy bear?" Zara snickers. The bell rings and the students file out leaving Jane looking overwhelmed.
Lassiters Complex
Mackenzie is looking at a photo of the necklace Hendrix bought her on his phone. Hendrix says when he spoke to the store they admitted they've had dodgy dealings with the courier company before. Mac smiles and says she doesn't mind as she much preferred him cheering her up in person last night. Jane walks past and looks alarmed when she sees Hendrix holding up his phone and laughing with Mackenzie about something. They become concerned when Jane doesn't answer their greetings and instead starts to get upset and hyperventilate. Freya suddenly appears and calmly and effortlessly assesses the situation, saying Jane looks as though she's having a panic attack. She introduces herself to Jane and then encourages her to breathe along with her until she's feeling calm again. David sees them and becomes concerned, letting Freya know he's a doctor, so Freya tells him what happened and lets him take over. David asks Jane what happened, and Jane can only get out a tearful "it's Zara", before she cries again. Mackenzie and Hendrix look worried while David takes Jane to the car.
MACKENZIE: Zara. Why am I not surprised?
HENDRIX: Hang on, we don't even know what happened.
MACKENZIE: It must have been big, Jane couldn't even breathe.
HENDRIX: I know but I'm just saying there can be two sides to the story.
MACKENZIE: (unimpressed) And you always take Zara's.
Erinsborough Hospital - David's Office
David finishes taking Jane's blood pressure and Susan apologises for what Jane went through. David says Jane's BP is back to normal so she should start feeling better. Jane thanks him and tells Susan she'll be fine to go back to school after lunch. "Only if something's done about the problem," David insists. "The bullying you're experiencing, it has to stop." Susan agrees and assures Jane that it will. Jane says she's positive Zara is the instigator, and Susan apologises for not being able to discipline Zara for the teddy prank, but they can now. Jane says she's tried to discipline Zara but she's lost all authority over her, and now the rest of the students. Susan tells her she'll get Curtis to cover her classes the rest of the afternoon while Jane writes up a behaviour report. "And as for Zara, well leave her to me," Susan firmly states.
Number 30
Zara arrives home to find Amy, Toadie and Susan all waiting for her in the lounge room. Amy instructs Zara to sit down, then gets annoyed with her for taking her lunch break off site when she was told to stay at school. Zara claims the whole idea is stupid, and when Amy brings up the incident in Jane's class, Zara points out she only made one little comment.
SUSAN: It was insolent.
ZARA: I don't know what that means.
AMY: It means you've been disrespectful!
ZARA: I wasn't the one filming her, other people were.
TOADIE: But you're the one who started all this by telling everyone about the camera in the bear.
ZARA: So, what, I can't talk to my friends anymore?
AMY: No! As of today, no. You're grounded. You go to school, you go to work and you come home. That is it.
SUSAN: And you've earned a week's detention.
ZARA: You're all blowing this way out of proportion, it was one comment.
TOADIE: You put the bear in Jane's classroom last week!
ZARA: I didn't do it! I already told you that.
TOADIE: It's blatantly obvious it was you, Zara.
AMY: Toadie. (She looks at Zara) After today it is really hard to believe you, and what you're doing to Ms Harris, it's bullying and it's not okay.
ZARA: Seriously? The three of you are ganging up on me over something I didn't even do. You're the bullies!
She gets the huff and charges out of the room, slamming the front door as she leaves.
Frankston/Number 26
Levi and Kyle have made a pit stop at the beach. Levi tells Kyle he's feeling a bit better and isn't going to let Freya get him down any more. Kyle gets a phone call from Roxy, who surprisingly tells them to come home. She's putting on a family dinner tonight because Sheila is flying out to LA in the morning to be with Naomi, as her boyfriend is pretty ill.
The Waterhole
David sees Freya and they make proper introductions with one another. Freya tells David she's a nurse, which makes sense to David given how well she handled things with Jane. Freya then wonders if it would be cheeky of her to use that as a professional reference as she's thinking of applying for a job at the hospital. Freya's after a few casual shifts here and there to fund her stay.
DAVID: I'm more than happy to put in a good word for you. How long are you looking to stay?
FREYA: (smiling) At this point I'm not leaving anytime soon.
Erinsborough High Exterior
Jane hopes she won't be the one running detention for Zara, but Susan says she'll take it herself if she has to. Susan also apologises for not doing something sooner, but Toadie and Amy came down on Zara pretty hard so Zara might finally see her behaviour won't be tolerated anymore. Jane wonders how Zara took it all and Susan says she could practically see the steam coming out of her ears. There's pause for concern when Jane suddenly smells smoke. They head up the stairs and are shocked to find one of the rubbish bins on fire.
