- Chloe giving her blessing to Aaron and David going down the surrogacy route to having a child.
- David going to head to Canada to get the surrogacy process started.
- Chloe finding out about Pierce's affair with Dipi.
- Chloe telling Pierce if he is moving home, she is moving out!
- Dipi leaving the family home.
- Dipi checking up on how Pierce is doing.
- Jay Rebecchi arriving in Erinsborough!
- Hendrix surprised to hear that Chloe is talking to Pierce.
- Shane and Pierce having a 'set to' in the complex.
- Pierce collapsing at #24.
Hendrix looks very relieved to see Susan arrive at the hospital - he called her as he wasn't sure Chloe would want to know and didn't want to wait by himself. She asks what happened and he explains that he thinks his dad had a heart attack but nobody has updated him since he arrived at the hospital.
HENDRIX: I don't even know if Dad is still alive.
"They would have told you," Susan reassures the lad with just as Clive comes out to give them an update. After reassuring them that Pierce is stable, Clive explains that Pierce's heart went into arrhythmia (irregular beating), which they will now run tests for to see what caused it.
"Wrecked," is how Pierce says he feels after Clive gives permission for a visit. Hendrix confirms that he hasn't contacted Chloe to tell her what happened.
PIERCE: I thought I was a goner.
Over a cuppa, Dipi confirms to Jane that Jay will hopefully be around for a couple of months and yes, the lad knows what is happening. She also adds that he isn't picking sides either, moments before he comes into the house and is introduced to Jane.
Jane is very impressed at his manners (he called her Ms Harris) but the conversation takes a different route after Susan texts Jane to let her know about Pierce.
Nicolette is amused at finding out that David has a spreadsheet to organise his luggage for the trip to Canada (the boys are going through it as he packs his hand luggage). "It saves mistakes," David explains to them both before admitting that he is nervous ahead of the trip.
NICOLETTE: Don't be, it's a very long plane trip for five minutes alone in a room with a tiny cup.
CHLOE: Ah, the miracle of life.
AARON: I'll be with you in spirit.
Chloe then hears about Pierce's collapse but is unsure of whether to go to the hospital or not.
Dipi looks mightily relived to see that Pierce is alive when she enters his room. He tries to downplay what happened, but while happy that she came, he quickly adds that they shouldn't be seen together since Chloe is likely to be on her way. "I should go," she says even though she doesn't exactly look happy at being told to go! And then Clive totally ignores Dipi as he passes her on the way into Pierce's room!
CLIVE: Have you ever taken dextroamphetamine?
"No, never," Pierce is quick to reply and we hear (and equally Dipi overhearing out in the corridor) that it's a drug commonly used to prescribed for ADHD and is an abused study aid... "and you had very high levels of it in your bloodstream." "That's impossible," Pierce replies as he takes next to no medication. Next on Clive's question list is trying to figure out if someone has given the medication to him in something he ate or drank.
Following on from Clive's theory, Levi is asking Pierce questions about what he ate and drank to see if they can figure out who drugged him. Hendrix is informed of Clive's theory when he re- enters the room, but so far nothing obvious is showing up.
LEVI: Can you think of anyone that might want to cause you harm?
Levi seems shocked at Pierce's reply and even the lad doesn't think Shane would do that. Pierce reminds them both that Shane isn't exactly a fan of his just now, so Levi informs them that he will now have to go talk to Shane.
Over a cuppa with Nicolette, Chloe is torn between wanting to go and see Pierce and equally staying well away from him! She decides to see if a solo walk will help her make a decision.
After Chloe leaves for her walk, "she's going to see Pierce isn't she?" Aaron says to Nicolette (he was silently packing David's stuff in the background). With a face like thunder on her, Nicolette replies back that she thinks Chloe will do that.
Levi questions Shane over what he did after the altercation (went straight home). While Shane hasn't got total proof he didn't leave the house at all, he makes it clear that he wasn't the one that poisoned Pierce.
SHANE: Seriously Levi, if I wanted to hurt the bloke I would not bother drugging him.
"Don't go anywhere," Levi warns him before heading out of the house.
The newly arrived Dipi though has him being the one responsible and doesn't look too happy at Shane denying that he was the one responsible, even if he is [sarcastically] happy that the bloke "got what he deserves." "When did you turn into a monster?!" she angrily says to Shane, something he vehemently denies and orders Dipi out of the house and "back to your boyfriend... or do you think he's too busy grovelling for his wife's forgiveness?"
David is surprised to see Paul and Terese arrive in the house at the back of Jane. They're both thrilled at the prospect of having a grandchild and Jane is envious that their turn will come before her (Nicolette confirms that she would like children someday).
Harlow finally catches up with Hendrix to find out how his dad is as he's been ignoring her texts. "He's going to be okay," he replies and adds that it's been a bit full on. The pair agree to hang out later as he needs to go back to the hospital. Before that happens though, he does the intros to Harlow when Jay arrives in the café.
With Harlow safely out of the café, we find out who it was that poisoned Pierce - Hendrix after he got some of Ritchie's tablets from Jay! Jay claims he only crushed up 1 tablet, but Hendrix thinks it was more given the reaction Pierce had.
HENDRIX: I thought he was dead!
The pair both regret their involvement in the poisoning and the only somewhat 'saving grace' is that Shane hopefully isn't in trouble.
Susan arrives in the café and is pleased to find Hendrix there (his dad was worried about him) and he explains about needing to get some fresh air. She then gives him the good news that Pierce is being discharged, and once she gets a coffee, the pair will head off to the hospital.
JAY: Look don't beat yourself up about this. Okay, yes, we made a major mistake but everything's fine now right.
HENDRIX: Yes, you're probably right. This will all blow over soon.
Nicolette seems to be struggling with the tears as she does the dishes. Jane thinks she is responsible (because of the children comment earlier) but seems somewhat surprised that Nicolette is pleased her mum is looking forward to her having children.
JANE: Why are you looking so sad?
NICOLETTE: Look at me mum. I'm single, I've got no savings and I'm scrounging off the sweetest little family ever. Seeing Aaron and David buzzing about the surrogacy, they're just so far ahead of me in every life milestone - get married, buy a house, have a baby. I want those things. I want all of them. I want my own family.
Jane points out that she does have a family - she isn't going anywhere plus Aaron and David adore her.
NICOLETTE: It's not the same. I'm lonely mum. What if I never have the life I want? What if no- one ever loves me back?
JANE: Darling, you have decades to find the right woman to share your life with and if you want to start a family, well you can have a baby any time you're ready.
Despite her doubts, Jane reassures her daughter that she'll "be a brilliant mum," as she "has force," which is what she loves in her daughter.
Hendrix looks really nervous as his dad is about to be discharged from the hospital and wants him to stay, but Pierce would rather go home.
Levi arrives with an update, that while Shane was on the street when the tea could have been tampered with, there is no proof he was responsible. Eventually the guilt of over what he did comes out and Hendrix blurts out that he was the one responsible.
HENDRIX: I did it alright. You have been such a jerk about trying to get Chloe back, and you wanted us to move away to cover everything up. I just wanted you to suffer alright and stop getting any sleep. None of this was meant to happen.
"I'm not looking for a fight," Shane greets his wife with when he enters the café, he is after an apology instead - it was Hendrix that drugged Pierce. And in the corner as he sits reading a magazine, Jay looks like he'd rather be elsewhere all of a sudden!!
Rather than apologise, Dipi instead can't believe what Hendrix did. "But you believed I could," Shane is quick to get in. "I was wrong, I am sorry," she almost begrudgingly says.
SHANE: Sorry for what? Doubting me or sorry you don't have something else to blame me for?
"I can't do this again," Dipi says and scurries off into the kitchen.
Shane was unaware that Jay was in the café and could overhear the pair, so apologises to his son. "I don't know how to fix this," Shane admits and the lad suggest "keep trying I guess" but Shane is unsure "there is much point any more" in doing that.
Just after Shane leaves him, Jay gets a text from Hendrix informing him not to stress, as he kept Jay out of it.
Kyle is all set to start fitting the baby things the moment David leaves the country. They tell him to hold fire as while they have secured an egg donor, the embryo will need to be frozen until they find someone to be the surrogate, which could take a long time to find.
Chloe surprises everyone when she comes home by having not gone to see Pierce as everyone expected. Instead she went shopping and found some cute rainbow coloured wool to make botties with... once she learns to knit that is! Aaron asks if this is how she is "avoiding the fact your husband nearly died today?" Chloe is taking Susan informing her that he's home as Pierce being fine. "And she doesn't owe him anything," Nicolette pipes up adding in her tuppenceworth. "I get that," and knows Pierce is "the last person you want to see" but Aaron tells his sister that "this is a little different."
AARON: I just want you to be sure you're not going to regret this.
Despite trying to mask it, Jane immediately knows that Dipi has been crying when she calls in for something for dinner and asks what's happened.
DIPI: My marriage is over.
JANE: Because of Pierce?
DIPI: Up until today I could lie to myself but when I saw him in his hospital bed, I realised all I wanted was for him to ask me to stay. And when it didn't, it broke my heart.
Jane tries to reassure her friend that it doesn't mean her marriage is over, they can work things through.
DIPI: I've loved Shane for 20 years but today when I looked at him, all I felt was exhaustion. There is nothing left in our marriage to save.
Now that he is home from the hospital, Pierce is still trying to comprehend what Hendrix did to him. Knowing that "affairs are complicated," and the fallout can spread "further than anyone involved expects," Susan urges Pierce to give the lad "some time." Pierce is worried how this is going to affect Hendrix doing his exams and her initial advice is for him to chat with his son, but Peirce knows Hendrix "won't listen to me now" and is fearful he will "spiral out of control." Susan offers to chat with Hendrix, but he has to know that his dad is there for him too.
Susan quickly makes herself scarce when a visitor calls - Chloe. Pierce is very much surprised to see her but is "happy you're here." Chloe wants to apologise for not visiting him in the hospital, and admits it felt weird knowing he'd collapsed and not making sure he was okay.
CHLOE: But it doesn't change how angry I am.
Pierce gets it and knows he hasn't yet earned her forgiveness, "but I will." "I'm glad you're okay, I really am," she finishes with before going to leave.
PIERCE: Chloe, don't go.
CHLOE: Take care of yourself.
Chloe simply about turns and exits the front door leaving Pierce standing alone.
Despite it being hours before checking in for the flight, David wants to get going to the airport. Paul and Terese want informed the minute he lands in Canada. Suddenly, in the middle of Aaron and David having their socially distant goodbye (words rather than hugs and kisses), Nicolette interrupts them.
NICOLETTE: You shouldn't have to travel half way around the world and wait who knows how long to meet your baby. You're ready now and so am I!
AARON: Nic, what are you saying?
NICOLETTE: You don't have to go to Canada. Let me have your baby.
