Hospital
Leo races into the hospital and seeks out David, who hasn't been answering his phone. He tells David that a mate of his has been stabbed, but won't come to hospital. David isn't impressed and tells Leo that he can't get involved if his mate is dodgy. Against his better judgement, David is persuaded to come to the motel.

DAVID: I could get into serious trouble for something this!
LEO: I'm sorry. If there were any other way...
DAVID:(exasperated) Fine.

Terese, Paige and Piper are setting up for the party. Helium balloons are decorating the room. Terese enquires if Paige has invited Mark, who lies and says he's busy with work.

Piper answers the door to Sonya, who is a bit embarrassed to be the first to arrive, but they assure her that it's fine.

No.24
Mark tells Tyler that he needs to go to the party on his own. Tyler nags him to go, and unable to tell him the real reason for not his not going, Mark is forced to go along with it.

Lassiter's
Jack and Amy are having coffee. Jack has got Paige some flowers (hand-picked as he's a bit skint). Amy says he should tell Paige how he feels, but he says he had his chance previously and blew it. Amy says that maybe he should ask Paige and find out for sure.

Paige answers the door to Courtney who compliments Paige on losing "most" of her baby-weight(!) Piper is doing some weird dancing with her crutches, then awkwardly turns to see that Tyler and Mark have come in.

PIPER: How long have you been standing there?
TYLER: Long enough to never forget it(!)

Mark awkwardly tells Paige that Tyler badgered him to come to the party. She says he might as well stay now he's there.

Motel
David is examining Mannix who claims he got stabbed while "messing about with his camping knives". David says that the bleeding has been successfully stemmed, but he could easily get infected and therefore need intravenous antibiotics. Mannix tells David aggressively that he won't go to hospital. David tells him firmly that he could go into septic shock. Mannix tells David to just stitch him up! David says that he has to report all crimes - he could lose his medical licence if he doesn't! Leo tells him to not ask any questions so he'll be in the clear.

DAVID: I'll stitch up the wound. But I can't promise anything.

Terese is talking to her assistant Val in the garden room, and asks him to push back some meetings (for her hospital appointment, but she doesn't tell Val that)

Piper comes in and Val mentions that he recognises her from "Pipe Up". When Val has gone, Piper urges Terese to come in to the party, but she says she's busy.

When Piper has gone, Terese gets a text from Erinsborough Hospital asking her to make a follow-up appointment.

Motel
David has bound Mannix's wound and gives him a one-off injection. He tells Leo to call him if anything changes (eg swelling or redness) Mannix will need to stay in bed and David will re-assess him in 24 hours. Until then, he'll have to make do with over-the-counter painkillers.

Leo thanks David for his efforts.

DAVID: I try hard to be a good brother. But this...it's really pushing it.
LEO: I'm sorry...I didn't know who else to turn to.
DAVID: Who is this guy, anyway?
LEO: He's an old mate.
DAVID: And he's worth putting my job at risk?
LEO: If it's any consolation, you probably just saved his life.
DAVID: Well, that's not a given yet. Give him the painkillers and keep close watch. The next few hours are critical.

Courtney is trying to get Paige to drink champagne, but she says she can't because she's breastfeeding. Courtney nags her to party with her as she's upset about not getting the job of day spa manager (apparently Courtney has dropped out of Uni).

Courtney picks up on the awkward body language between Mark and Paige. Paige decides to go out and get some air, but Jack comes in with some flowers for her at that moment. She asks Jack to put them in a vase while she takes Gabe outside.

Toadie and Sonya are talking about the redecoration of their living room. Also, he wants to talk about them going to see the Bombers together.

TOADIE: It's just a game of footy.
SONYA: Well, it's not.

She clearly isn't ready to make plans together, so Toadie drops the idea.

Motel
Steph isn't impressed that Leo hasn't got rid of Mannix.

STEPH: This is a family motel, I don't want crims here!

Leo tells her that Mannix has food poisoning and won't be causing any trouble. Paul backs Steph up and tells Leo to get rid of him, or they're calling the cops.

PAUL: I'm going out for a while, but by the time I get back, he'd better be gone.

Jack joins Paige and Gabe in the garden. He asks her if she feels weird about co-parenting with him, but she insists it's not that.

JACK: I need to be honest with you. When, um...when we were back at the shack, when Game come to our lives, it stirred up some feelings again. You know, now that I'm not with the Church because i left to be a father to Gabe...a part of me also left for you.
PAIGE: What are you...what are you saying? That you see a future for us?
JACK: Well, I just...we've kind of done it backwards. We've got a kid together now. But we've never really given dating a proper crack.
PAIGE: I am grateful for the commitment that you've made to our son. And I will always care for you, Jack. But that's as far as it can go. I'm really sorry.

Jack looks disappointed.

Inside the house, Paul arrives with some cakes and Courtney lets him in. Paul asks Terese if she's alright as she seemed a little down the last time she saw her. She says she's fine and asks him to stay for the rest of the party.

Backpackers
Jack sees Leo helping Mannix into the backpackers and asks what's going on. Leo fobs him off saying Mannix just needs a place to stay.

Terese is making a speech and tells Paige she's really sorry about their previous differences. But now she really respects Paige and tells her tearfully that family is what gets you through life and wishes her a happy birthday (this strikes a chord with Toadie and Sonya). Paige is delighted and hands Gabe to Courtney so that she can go over and hug Terese.

Paige picks up the speech and tells everyone there how much they mean to her.

Just then, Gabe throws up on Courtney, much to her disgust. Amy is looking for Jack.

Backpackers
Leo has called David in again who is very cross that Mannix has been moved. He wants Mannix to be on a drip. Jack just stands there, not really knowing what's going on(!)

MANNIX:(to Leo) You take me to a hospital, you're finished. I mean it. I end up there, they come looking for me? I'm telling them everything I know.

Leo looks conflicted.

Everyone is enjoying the party. Except Toadie, who Amy describes as a "fun-sucking black hole". He tells her that he was getting along well with Sonya and then it all went wrong when he invited her to the footy.

TOADIE: I just can't help it. Whenever I see her, I find it so hard to hold back.
AMY: Give her time. Take it from a handywoman, if you paper over things now, they will just crack wide open later on.

Amy says that she'll come to the Bombers game with him, as long as there is no face-painting(!)

Terese and Paul are chatting. Paul invites her to dance with him. Terese says she's glad Paul came to the party.

In the garden, Mark tells Paige that he's heading off because he's ruining her birthday.

PAIGE: Things are just difficult, that's all. And after Queensland...everything's confusing. You shouldn't have kissed me.
MARK: We kissed each other.
PAIGE: Well, you initiated it.
MARK: Yeah, I know.
PAIGE: I mean, can you really trust your feelings so soon after losing Caitlyn and falling for Sonya? You've got no compass.
MARK: That's not true.
PAIGE: Well, a while ago, I put myself out there, and you rejected me. Am I supposed to believe that you've done a complete turnaround?
MARK: Paige, since you moved back in with me, it's made me realise how strongly I feel for you. I really care about you.
PAIGE: I don't know how I feel. And neither do you. Especially after everything that we've been through. The only real thing to me right now is Gabe and that's all I want to focus on. So...I think we should just stay friends.

Mark nods.

Backpackers
David demands that Leo tells him what's going on with him and Mannix. Leo explains that when he worked at the club in Sydney, the one that was owned by the Renshaws and was done for money laundering. Mannix worked for them as a bartender, and also as a "private courier". Leo was the one that turned the Renshaws in - and Mannix knows it.
