Previously
- Tyler is concerned when Russell announces he's planning to stay in town and buy Fitzgerald Motors
- Nate thinks Aaron's joking when he admits he likes him, reminding him they can't stand each other
- Naomi jokes that she and Paul are becoming the boring, stable couple of Erinsborough
- While in Toadie's care, Nell makes a dash from the house and is almost run over by Sonya
- Sonya asks Tyler, who witnessed the incident, not to tell Toadie, as he'll blame himself
No 30
Sonya brings Nell back into the house, followed by Toadie, who's relieved to see Nell safe. He says he heard a car's brakes squeal, but Sonya plays it down, saying Nell just went out to fetch the paper, and that the car just needs a tune-up. Tyler backs up her story, saying he stopped Nell going too far out of the front - and Sonya says it's her fault for leaving the door open.
SONYA (to Nell): Especially knowing what a little Houdini you are!
TYLER: True escape artist.
Tyler heads home, while Toadie is still feeling awful that he couldn't follow Nell outside, because of the wheelchair. But Sonya insists she wasn't in any danger.
TOADIE: Not this time. I need to get better at this.
The Waterhole
Paul is celebrating Father's Day by sharing a family meal with Naomi, Amy and Jimmy. Daniel turns up to join them, having just called his dad Scott. Paul thanks Naomi for organising the meal, and she and Amy go to fetch some champagne from the bar.
Amy seems to be enjoying herself spending time with her dad, and thanks Naomi for sending her the letter that brought her to Erinsborough in the first place. Naomi wishes her own dad was still around. Jimmy approaches, announcing that Paul has said he can have lemonade, and for once Amy doesn't react with total outrage.
Back at the table, Paul tells Daniel that he's thinking of proposing to Naomi tonight, as things have been great between them. Daniel points out they haven't been together that long, and admits he should have taken Paul's similar advice to him about Amber. Paul says it's just an idea; he hasn't really decided yet. Naomi, Amy and Jimmy rejoin them, and Paul asks if Naomi's still on for their date tonight. Daniel looks worried.

Erinsborough must be going through a cold snap because over at Topless Towers, absolutely everybody has a shirt on. Tyler, Mark, Aaron and Russell are preparing for dinner, as Aaron tells the family about his failed efforts to woo Nate.
RUSSELL: Well maybe Nate doesn't want to compete with all those ladies throwing their knickers at you?
AARON: Please - I made it pretty obvious that he doesn't have any competition.
Aaron admits he's thinking of giving up on Nate.
It seems the cold snap is over; Paige comes out of the bedroom in her bikini top, which immediately gets Tyler's attention. Russell then gets a phone call, and afterwards tells the boys that someone's made a (low) offer on Fitzgerald Motors and that the owner wants Russell to top it. He says he'll have to move fast if he wants to buy. But he's not sure if he can afford to do that, and may have to leave Erinsborough. Mark and Aaron look worried but Tyler can't help looking relieved.
The Waterhole
Naomi is at the bar, while Sheila is working. Kyle comes in with Bossy to say hello, having just arrived back from his sojourn in Frankston. Sheila tries to load him up with food and drink, but he's still looking glum over his split with Georgia, and decides just to head home. After he's gone, Naomi remarks that no relationship can survive the pressure that marriage creates. She cites Matt Turner's dalliance with Kyle's mum Sharon, the Willises, and her own flings with married men, as evidence of this.
SHEILA: So you're not going to get married ever?
NAOMI: No, never... Even if Prince Whoshisface came up in his white Ferrari and asked me, I'd say no. Because marriage is the biggest con of all.
No 30
Sonya is asleep on the sofa, while Toadie looks over some paperwork. He collects the mugs and plates from breakfast and takes them over to the kitchen. Then he wheels himself outside.
Ramsay Street
Kyle sees Toadie going along in the wheelchair and offers him help, but Toadie has it covered. Karl tells him Billy sends his love, having just called him for Father's Day. Toadie says that Callum called him too. Noting that Toadie seems fairly tense, Karl offers him a chance to talk, to get things off his chest. But Toadie insists he's okay. Then he sees Nell's ball, and realises that she must have made it out of the house after all - and that Sonya must have almost hit her with the car.
TOADIE: I was meant to be looking after her.
Harold's Store
Amy and Jimmy come in, and are pleased to see Kyle back in town. Things are still a bit awkward between Kyle and Amy, but Jimmy is keen to show Kyle his Dragon Prophesies trading cards, so Kyle sits down to inspect them. Amy smiles as Jimmy shows Kyle the ropes.
No 24
Paige comes in from the back yard to fetch drinks. Mark tells Paige that he's thinking of investing in Fitzgerald Motors, to help Russell buy the place so that the family can all be together in Erinsborough. Paige says it's nice to have family around, saying she's just been to give Brad a Father's Day card. Mark says he's beginning to realise how important family is to Russell.
Paige asks if Russell staying is what all the brothers want, adding that Tyler seemed relieved at the prospect of him leaving. Mark says they have a difficult relationship, but that he knows they care about each other and that it would be great for them if Russell stayed. Mark then comments on Paige's bikini top, saying she might want to cover up a bit more while she's not in the pool.
PAIGE: Pardon?!
MARK: Well, look, I love you in a bikini. But I think it's raising the blood pressure of more Brennans than just me.
PAIGE: Coming from a man - actually, an entire family of men - who seem almost genetically incapable of keeping their clothes on? You know what - you can get your brothers their drinks. And can you tell them to cover up? Because I'm actually offended by their topless flaunting. Yeah?
MARK: Yeah.
Mark looks sheepish as Paige walks off in a huff.

Toadie comes back in and confronts Sonya about Nell escaping the house before. Sonya's forced to admit that she did almost hit Nell with the car, and apologises.
TOADIE: What, are you sorry because you lied to me, or are you sorry because you nearly ran over our daughter, after her helpless father couldn't stop her?!
Sonya keeps insisting that the incident was mainly her fault, but Toadie is getting very exasperated.
TOADIE: I don't want you to keep things from me! If we don't have honesty, then what have we got left?
Harold's Store
Amy, Kyle and Jimmy are playing the Dragon Prophesies card game. While Jimmy goes outside to give Bossy a drink, Amy and Kyle talk Father's Day, discussing their experiences with Paul and Gary respectively. Kyle talks of Gary being dodgy, and admits he often wondered as a child whether if he'd been 'a better kid', Gary would have come back and made a go of it with him and Sharon.
AMY: Jimmy's dad loves him, but he's not good at that stuff either. He's better at grand gestures. It's probably why Jimmy bugs you. You know, you're solid.
KYLE: I love doing this stuff with him. Takes my mind off of things.
Jimmy rejoins them and the game continues. Amy just bags the Sword of Eternity, when she gets a text from Paul asking her to come to The Waterhole urgently. Kyle offers to stay here with Jimmy, and as she leaves, Amy again smiles to see them getting on so well.
The Waterhole
Paul tells Amy that he's thinking of proposing to Naomi tonight, and Amy seems surprised when he says he wants to know her views on the matter.
PAUL: Most of my life I've made decisions which tend to drive my family away, and I do not want to lose you and Jimmy now. So I figured, any big life decisions, I'd like your approval.
AMY: I think she's a good person. And I think she's good for you.
PAUL: Yeah, I do too.
AMY: Despite the fact that she's practically the same age as me.
PAUL: Does that bother you?
AMY: What, that my potential mum grew up listening to the same boybands as me? I'll get over it.
Paul reiterates that he's only thinking about proposing, and admits that Daniel thinks it's too soon. Amy tells Paul to go with his gut, and see how it feels in the moment.
Naomi arrives, having been busy organising Toadie's fundraiser. She says she's so tired now, though, that she'd rather just curl up on the couch rather than go on a date as she and Paul had planned. Paul agrees to a raincheck, and Naomi goes to fetch a coffee.
PAUL: Well at least that's one less decision I have to make today!
AMY: Hey! I do not pick you for a quitter. You just follow your instincts, and I'll get Naomi to your date. Deal?
PAUL: Deal.
No 24
Paige is vacuuming, still in her bikini top. Mark says she's made her point and apologises, saying she can wear what she likes when she likes.
PAIGE: Good. Give me your shirt; I am freezing.
Mark duly obliges, and sits down to talk to Russell - explaining that he's been thinking of investing so that he can buy Fitzgerald Motors. Aaron says that he has some savings too, which he'd like to contribute. In the background, Tyler is looking worried again. Russell says it's too much to ask, but Mark and Aaron are serious about helping him stay in Erinsborough.
AARON: Brennan Family Motors!
Mark adds that he loves having Russell around. Everyone looks at Tyler.
TYLER: Don't look at me, I'm broke!
MARK: That's okay - you're still part of this.
While Mark, Russell and Aaron look at some figures Mark has jotted down, Paige talks to Tyler in the kitchen - saying it's clear something's wrong between him and Russell, and that if he wants to talk to her about it, he can.
PAIGE: Messed-up families are kind of my thing.
Tyler says he's just disappointed he can't put in money himself for the garage, and insists he's glad that Russell's staying. Paige looks sceptical.

Jimmy is giving Toadie's wheelchair a test-drive, and asking Toadie questions about his not being able to walk that are putting Sonya on edge - but Toadie is calmly answering them.
JIMMY: How do you put your undies on?
TOADIE: One leg at a time! Sonya's helping me at the moment, but hopefully soon I'll be able to do that myself.
Jimmy continues to interrogate Toadie, so Sonya sends him out of the room to fetch Nell for dinner, then apologises to Toadie. But Toadie says he likes being asked questions.
TOADIE: People pretending that I'm not in a wheelchair is nearly as bad as being in one! I want people to be real with me. I want us to be real with each other. This isn't the end of the world. This is just something that we he have to adjust to, together, alright? Not dancing around it, not hiding our fears and frustrations. And babe, I know you're scared. I am too. But I'm less scared knowing that we're doing this together.
SONYA: Okay.
Lassiter's Complex
Sheila and Russell are leaving The Waterhole arm-in-arm, as he tells her about the plans for Mark and Aaron to invest in the garage. Sheila's thrilled that Russell will be sticking around in Erinsborough, and kisses him. Paul and Daniel show up, and Sheila explains the good news. Paul congratulates Russell on his decision to buy the garage.
RUSSELL: Well when it feels right, you've just gotta take that leap of faith.
This gets Paul thinking about his potential proposal. Then Daniel leads Paul towards an arched area b the lake that he's decked out with fairy-lights and a champagne bucket. Daniel reveals that he felt bad for being negative before about Paul's plans to propose to Naomi, so thought he'd 'set the mood' in case Paul does decide to propose.
DANIEL: Look, it's your decision, and I'll support whatever you do.
PAUL: When did you suddenly grow up?
DANIEL: I think one of your lectures finally sunk in. But I am still a hopeless romantic.
Paul says the setup is 'absolutely perfect', and that when he sees Naomi he'll 'know what to do'. Daniel leaves him to it, just as Amy lures an unsuspecting Naomi towards the lake. Naomi notices the fairy-lights and champagne, and assumes it's for someone else.
NAOMI: What's this? Don't tell me, somebody else who didn't book Naomi Canning Enterprises for their special event... Is that Paul?
Naomi is very impressed by the romantic gesture, but asks Paul what it's all about. Paul delivers a heartfelt speech.
PAUL: Well... Naomi, you've seen the best in me, and the worst. And we've been through an awful lot together. And I know I'm not always easy... Everybody thinks that I love making speeches, but I've got to say this one's got me a bit tongue-tied. Anyway, here goes. Naomi Canning, I love you so much. Will you marry me?
Naomi adopts an expression somewhere between pleasant surprise and horror!
