Previously on Neighbours
- Paul putting Josh/Amber off the trail of discovering who the dead body is.
- Paul calling someone to alert them that there is a problem!
- Toadie telling Cat that Erin isn't likely to appear for their visit/then saying bye to her.
- Amber's car being stolen and then almost being run down by her own car.
- "Someone" coming to see Amber after she was almost knocked down.
Lassiters car park
That "someone" at the end of the last episode was Daniel and Amber is taking it as fate that they are meant to be together. She is honest with him about Josh kissing her but adds that it was just a process in her getting where she wants to be - with him.
The Waterhole
"I'm your brother," Josh pulls when Paige clams up after admitting that she talked to Amber about him. Eventually she reveals that she thinks Amber may have some feelings for him and advises him to just stay close working on the mystery photograph rather than jumping in with both feet.
Sue arrives to have a go at Paul for not including an Erinsborough logo on the festival material (currently only the Lassiters one is there) and he hastily ropes Paige into making one when he said to Sue that Paige was onto it (thankfully she played along quickly!).
Ramsay Street
Toadie is trying to teach Nell all there is about cricket but she'd rather play with her tea set! Both are surprised when Cat suddenly appears, especially as moments earlier they'd been talking about her.
Lassiters Complex
"Thank you for being so patient," Amber tells Daniel as they walk through the complex and run into Paul. He's happy to see them reunited, but is even happier when Amber confirms that he's got all the stuff related to the photo.
The Waterhole
Paul might not be happy to learn that Josh has put an appeal online about the mystery couple (he used the photo he took on his phone). Josh's hopes of winning Amber back are increased after Imogen tells him about Amber looking through his memory book of them and he wants to head immediately to #32 to innocently talk about the appeal... and see what happens thereafter he adds.
Number 30
Cat is a bit coy with the Rebecchi's over her foster parents being happy for her to take a detour to Ramsay Street after being at a monster truck exhibition.
Number 32
Josh (and Imogen) find out the hard way that Daniel/Amber are back together when they spring them pashing on the sofa after walking in through the backdoor. "I'm sorry, I didn't want you to find out this way," Amber explains and confirms that she is back together with Daniel. "Got that," Josh replies before quickly making an exit despite Amber wanting him to stay and talk! Not surprisingly, Imogen decides she can't stay either and follows her brother's footsteps.
Penthouse suite
Paige isn't too impressed at Paul using her to get Sue off his back. However when Paul goes to meet his next appointment, he isn't too impressed at the greeting - being punched in the face! Mr Puncher disappears back into the lift as quickly as he arrives and Paul dismisses Paige's concern and wants her to keep quiet about what has happened to him.
(Later)
Paige has ignored Paul's request and has stayed, fetching him a cold compress for his face. To facilitate her keeping quiet, he dangles the carrot of designing the festival logo as a way of ensuring that happens.
PAIGE: I know a buy off when I see one.
Paul gives into her demands ($500 fee and her name appears in any brochure the logo is in) as a way to ensure she keeps quiet and gets rid of her quickly when he gets a text from Sue to say she's coming up the fire stairs to the apartment.
"Cats out of the bag," she greets him with and whatever it is, it's connected to the punch Paul got. He's annoyed to hear that the photo is online too.
Ramsay Street
Bailey has been roped into playing footie with Cat and Sonya can see through her lie of saying her train home isn't for a while yet, but doesn't say anything.
Number 22 backyard
"I am so sorry," Amber begins with when she sees Josh but he replies that it's not her fault, he got his hopes up. Amber reassures him that she treasures the time they spent together and that he's an amazing person but just that they weren't meant to be together.
Number 30
Sonya decides it's time for a word with Cat when she nips into the house - she's checked the train timetable and there is no late train to Albury and has contacted her foster parents who are worried about sick about her as they didn't know where she was. "What's going on?" Sonya asks and Cat opens up to her - she wants to live at #30 as she/the foster parents no longer get on with each other, even though Sonya didn't get that impression when she contacted them.
(Later)
Toadie comes in to get Cat back outside when he realises something is wrong, and Sonya tells him about Cat wanting to live with them. She explains that they [her foster parents] don't really want her and fears things will get worse as the foster mum (Lorraine) is pregnant. Toadie tries to reassure her that won't happen but its falling on deaf ears, so Sonya tries to go down the 'procedure route' and that Erin needs to be considered too, both of which Cat instantly dismisses. Cat is getting quite exasperated at the discussions.
CAT: Why isn't what I want ever count?!
TOADIE: It does.
SONYA: But this is not the solution, I mean you don't even know us that well.
Sonya offers Cat a bit of an olive branch by saying she can stay at #30 tonight but will have to go home tomorrow.
The Waterhole
Josh and Imogen are drowning their sorrows over a (non-alcoholic) drink in the bar.
IMOGEN: What a day, I've lost Hermione, you've lost Amber.
JOSH: Again.
IMOGEN: Look at it this way, it cannot possibly be worse and think of the money we'll save not having to buy petrol or flaps.
Imogen spoke too soon as they receive a deputation from Paul and Sue to ask Josh to take the online appeal down but he's not doing that until he gets answer to his questions.
Sue gives Paul 'a look' and he confesses that he's the one in the photo and the girl had a boyfriend (who she subsequently married) and didn't know about the kiss. Josh now agrees to take it down and Paul/Sue depart and Imogen rejoices at the prospect of a free lemonade (Paul is shouting them drinks by way of thanks).
Harold's Store
Lauren/Paige don't seem too fussed about the news she's back with Daniel after Amber has explained it to them, although Lauren doesn't want the subject of being engaged brought up any time soon. Amber confirms to Paige that Josh knows then goes on a mini-high about loving her family, her life and Daniel before leaving.
PAIGE: (to Lauren) I tried. It's a bit hard to argue against a knight in shining armour who magically appeared in her hour of need.
LAUREN: Maybe it does mean something?
The Waterhole
Over a glass of champers, Paul confirms to Sue that the photo is down but she's more concerned over how to get spilt milk back into the bottle! We discover that Mr Puncher was Sue's husband (Bill) who didn't know that his then girlfriend left a party (after an argument with him) on a hot afternoon to meet with Paul's lips! She apologises for Bill punching him and that there won't be a repeat performance after she convinced him that that afternoon was a one-off temporary loss of sanity!
SUE: Which it was!
PAUL: Great, here's me thinking it might make you a little nicer to me.
SUE: The last time I was nice to you was 25 years ago and look where that got us!
PAUL: Yes, we'll always have that summer afternoon Sue!
SUE: (smiling) Yes.
"I literally gave you the worst advice in the world," Paige says to her brother after entering the bar. He agrees it was but adds that she was trying to help and that it's not the end of the world. Imogen is surprised by her brothers newly found attitude and Paige thinks that's the best one to have.
JOSH: Yes, because this is only round one.
PAIGE: What do you mean?
JOSH: Amber will come around.
"Oh no," his sisters say in unison but Josh is adamant that they are going to get back together because that really is fate.
JOSH: She and Daniel have flaked before, they'll flake again and when they do I'll be ready, so it's all good!
Harold's Store
While Cat bonds with Nell at one table, at another, Toadie and Sonya are now wondering how nice Lorraine really was, recalling their conversations with her. "Kids need to feel like they belong," Toadie says and shows how well Cat is playing with Nell to say that he knows she'd fit in well with them.
TOADIE: She's a good kid, I get her, we have a connection and the thought of her going through more than she already has, it's just...
SONYA: Okay. Okay, I don't what that either but we don't just decide to take on someone else's kid in an afternoon Jarrod.
TOADIE: Well she's not just someone else's kid is she, she's Erin's.
And I know that and you know how responsible I feel but I just don't want to make the same mistake, I don't want to put pressure on the situation especially when we don't know what that situation is.
"You're right," Toadie replies but he is just saying that if Cat needs help it should be them that helps her.
That question has Sonya pondering but while they were chatting, Cat got a text message from Lorraine saying:
Come home darling. We miss you. xx
Which she then deleted from her phone after reading it.
Unmissable drama
- Cat pleading with Sonya not to send her home.
- Jayden confronting Bailey.
- Diamato having words with Naomi.
- A mystery man arriving at the garage.
