Sonya is still stunned by Elliot's revelation when she arrives home and tries to compose herself before going into the livingroom to see Toadie/Nell. He's surprised at her being away so long and she replies that Elliott wouldn't settle so they went for a walk. Sonya suggests that they should still go on their date night even though Toadie thought it would have been cancelled and just at that, she gets a text from Jacob saying You didn't deny it which turns into “Jacob thanking me,” for Toadie! While Toadie goes to get changed, Sonya deletes the text she's just received.
Cal presents Josie with an apology pressie – a little puppy from the local shelter. He wants to know why the need for an apology and she replies that the way he talked down to her, sounded just like her birth dad, adding that although she doesn't have much to do with him, he can make trouble for her mums.
JOSIE: And I like you because you're sweet and kind. You're nothing like him.
CALLUM: You...you know, I'd never purposely...
Josie leans over and kisses him.
CALLUM: Okay, so, just to recap, we're cool?
JOSIE: I just kissed you.
Josie needs to go as her mums are waiting, so Cal helps her get the puppy outside.
Mason, Imogen, Amber and Josh finally arrive at their picturesque camping site and begin to set up. Unfortunately the tent that Mason was to use has been moth eaten although Imogen says that's a plus – “he can gaze at the stars all night.” With the forecast being for rain, Imogen is forced to let Mason bunk in her tent after Amber/Josh refused to share with him on condition he sticks to his own sleeping bag!
Date night isn't exactly a hit with the Rebecchi's so Toadie decides to be open with his wife and admit that he was jealous of her running after Jacob every time he calls. After initially denying that she does that, she's forced to apologise for it when Toadie confirms she does, is quick to add that they're just friends. He's a bit puzzled by her saying that.
TOADIE: Yeah, absolutely. Why would you say that? I'm not accusing you of anything.
SONYA: No, no, no. No, no. No, no. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I am aware of how incredibly lucky I am to be married to you.
TOADIE: I'm really lucky too, babe.
Amber/Josh's smooch time is being seriously disturbed by Mason/Imogen arguing especially once he lets slip that he's the one who grassed Isaac up.
Jacob sends Sonya another text, this time saying that they should talk but she texts back that he should leave her alone.
Mason is still trying to explain his actions to Imogen but she's still not his #1 fan. He teases her that she shouldn't come over to his side of the tent no matter how tempted she gets!
IMOGEN: I would rather sleep outside than come anywhere near you.
Although as she turns her back on him, we can see she's got a smile on her face.
Campsite (next day)
Josh/Amber are making breakfast but there's no sign of life from Imogen/Mason (who are cuddled up together like a couple in their tent) so Josh decides to forcibly wake them up by making a make- shift alarm. He is then alarmed at what he sees (them cuddled up) when he opens up their tent to rouse them.
JOSH: What the hell?
IMOGEN: Get out!
Josh walks back towards where Amber is and asks “what is it?” as Mason/Imogen get out of their tent.
JOSH: Your brother and my sister, they were, they were...
MASON: Hey, man. What...? What did you think you were doin'?
JOSH: Me? What about you?
IMOGEN: Nothing was going on!
JOSH: Well, it didn't look like it!
MASON: You heard her. Nothing happened.
JOSH: Well, make sure it stays that way.
IMOGEN: Look, just shut up. It is way too early for this.
Amber tries to diffuse the situation by asking “breakfast, anyone?” and then says that she/Josh are going on a bush walk later. Mason thinks that's boring and suggests instead they go abseiling as they've got the gear. When it comes over that Josh isn't keen because his dad would kill him, Mason asks, “what are you like 8 years old?” and begins to taunt him until Amber asks him to stop it. Imogen decides she'd rather go abseiling than be the third wheel so now Josh wants to go abseiling but Amber says no, alone time is good.
Sonya is surprised to see Jacob talking to Toadie when she arrives home. Jacob asks for her opinion on Toadie's plan to let the grandparents have access to Elliott given the current stalemate that is only going to result in bitterness. She is for it but Jacob is against it given they live in Adelaide and he lives in Erinsborough where he enjoys living.
JACOB: I'm not goin' anywhere.
Despite having alone time, Amber feels that Josh is worried about his sister.
Mason shows Imogen how abseiling should be done and she looks extremely relived when he gets to the bottom! He then kits Imogen up and isn't letting her back out, despite her wanting to.
Amber makes it clear she isn't going to check up on Mason/Imogen however the promise of some ‘tent time' has her agreeing to go and check up on them.
“See, I told you it's not that hard,” Mason gloats to Imogen when she safely reaches the bottom. She seems to have really enjoyed the experience too, so much so that she wants another go!
Jacob arrives to meet Sonya and before he even gets a chance to sit down, urges him to move closer to his in- laws telling him that he can't say around Erinsborough because of her.
SONYA: You're lost. Your feelings are all over the place and you're still grieving.
JACOB: You care about me.
SONYA: Not like that - not in the way that you want me to. You're turning this into something that it's not.
JACOB: Well, call it grief. You can call it whatever you want. But…that doesn't change the fact that I want to be with you.
SONYA: Yes and that's never gonna happen.
Jacob wants to know why she's giving up on him…on Elliott.
SONYA: It's not as simple as that, Jacob, and you know that. My marriage, it's more important than our friendship. I can't see you any more. Now, for both of our sakes, please, please, just leave Erinsborough.
Cal thinks he's stuffed up again as Josie is returning the puppy (now called Logie) to him but turns out she's allergic to dogs hence why her mums haven't let her have one. “Dream on,” Toadie tells Cal when he decides that he'll keep the dog.
The kids head outside with Logie and Toadie asks the newly arrived Sonya what she said to Jacob as he got a text from him suddenly saying that he's heading back to Adelaide.
SONYA: I told him that he should leave. Things...things were getting too complicated.
Toadie wants to know what he is missing and Sonya asks that he'll hear her out.
SONYA: I've been confused. This part of me has been attracted to how much he needs me.
TOADIE: Um… are… are you trying to tell me that you have feelings for him?
SONYA: No, no. No, no, no. No, I like the way that he depends on me. You know, it's like the way Lucas did.
TOADIE: What are you talking about?
SONYA: Well, it's like Lucas is. He's my friend and he's... he's a fellow addict, and... and when he left, you know, Jacob filled that void. And l...l think having a kindred soul around, it's a part of a thing that just keeps me on track. And you know... I mean, remember when you were facing charges, and we had that... we had that moment and, um... Well, you were lost and... and you wanted me to step up and it took the focus away from me and onto something else and... and it made me feel strong. And...if I'm being honest, I kind of...I liked the way that felt. TOADIE: You preferred me when I was a mess?
SONYA: No, of course not! Of course not, I love you exactly the way that you are.
TOADIE: Well, that's kind of a bit hard to believe, especially when my wife has just said that apparently I can't give her everything that she needs.
SONYA: Oh, no. It's... Please, don't say that, Jarrod.
TOADIE: Why not? It's true isn't it? You got it from someone else.
“You guys totally missed out, abseiling is amazing!” Imogen cries when she sees Josh/Amber arrive. Josh explains that they just came to make sure they were okay but Imogen reassures him that they are.
Mason finally goads Josh into abseiling and while he gets the equipment ready, Amber points out that he doesn't need to do this but Josh reassures her that he wants to. “Smile,” Imogen tells him as she gets out her iPhone and starts to take photos.
Even as Mason sets the equipment up, the boys can't resist trading insults at each other much to the annoyance of Amber/Imogen. Mason explains to Josh how to use the apparatus but he's already got it and asks if Mason is ready too. “Yeah, just let me double- check the anchor one more time, all right?” but even before Mason's said those final few words, Josh is already making his way over the edge.
AMBER: Just be careful.
Josh is barely over the edge when his feet appear to slip but he reassures Imogen/Amber that he's fine, he's just walking. As he goes further down the cliff, even Mason is impressed at how well Josh is doing.
MASON: Looks like you're not such a wuss, after all.
Just as Josh is on the homeward stretch, something happens as suddenly he is falling to the bottom in an uncontrolled manner and lands with a sickening thump at the bottom.
