Previously on Neighbours
- Matt finding out about the black eye Bailey got at school.
- Georgia applying for a course.
- Paul trying to get the hotel manager to lie to the police.
- Lucy spelling things out to Paul regarding his position in the company.
Lucy is slowly sorting out the mess that Paul got himself into with the council and looks like planning permission is going to be (legally) obtained.
Kate comes over to tell Paul she is moving into #26 today. He's still not amused she's moving out and warns her not to come running back to him when it all falls apart.
Toadie, Ajay and Sonya are chatting about what is going to be happening with Bailey (he's up in front of Supt. Hayes) and what the worst case scenarios could be. Ajay wishes that it was another Superintendant that they were dealing with.
Lauren is keeping herself busy at work (Matt and Bailey are up in front of the Superintendant today) when Lucy pops in for her coffee. They chat about old times and Lucy asks if Lauren hears from any of the old gang (the Willises or the Martin's) and she replies no but did hear that Brad and Beth had split and both remarried.
Georgia helps Kate move into her new home and they chat about the training position Georgia has applied for and the implications it has. Kate tells her to stop putting herself down (she thinks Kyle will dump her at some point) and that she really should tell Kyle about applying for it.
Lucy shows Paul who she is thinking of making the new hotel manager and while he's a bit unsure initially, he comes on board fairly quickly.
She then turns her attention to how he's treating Kate and he decides to change his mind on that because he's hopeful that the justice system will help (Mason is up in court next week).
The Turner's (minus Amber) are nervously waiting for Ajay to arrive before they head to the police station. Matt doesn't think that Mason's presence will be beneficial and wants him to stay in the store. Ajay arrives and there is a change of plan - Hayes wants to see Matt first, so the rest are told to wait while the pair head off to the station.
Supt. Hayes doesn't seem too impressed with Ajay's pleas on behalf of Matt and when he says that there is no case for him to answer to; Hayes threatens to charge Matt with bringing the force into disrepute! It looks like Ajay's pleas have worked to a degree when Hayes decides on the verdict - Matt is being demoted from Sergeant to Senior Constable and a note will be kept in his records.
Number 26 backyard
Kate is receiving her official welcome to #26 with champers in the spa and the cheese and biscuits Sheila has brought along. Sheila is more than happy with Kate moving in and at Kyle being with Georgia although she disappears quickly with an attack of the guilts (but citing turning into a prune) when Kyle mentions he's happy she didn't apply for the position.
Ajay is now trying to work his magic on behalf of Bailey to Hayes. Hayes has spotted Bailey's shiner and asks him how he got it (a fight in school defending Amber) before asking if he visited Mason in Juvie (he did and didn't like it). They all breathe a huge sigh of relief when Hayes issues Bailey with an official police warning and is told the next time he defends his sister to use words!
Mason calls round to update everyone on the good news. Its relief all around and as they chat, Georgia heads to the kitchen to take a call on her mobile. The curiosity gets to Kate and she leaves Mason and Kyle to fight over which DVD to watch to head into the kitchen to see what the call was about. Turns out that Georgia missed her date of birth off her application and again Kate urges her to tell Kyle.
Its celebration time and Toadie pours the celebration drinks for his business partner and Matt/Lauren/Sonya. They all reassure Matt that he will get his third stripe back soon enough (he's a bit despondent about being demoted) before thoughts turn to how Mason will get on next week.
Kate is surprised to see her Uncle call round with a housewarming pressie (a plant) and warm wishes despite him not fully agreeing on her relationship with Mason. She hopes he won't be too lonely and Paul replies that he's moving too - to the hotel on a permanent basis (but another room until the penthouse is ready).
As quick as she arrived, Lucy announces that she's off - there is a crisis in Singapore she needs to attend to! She discusses briefly with Paul about the new hotel manager and wants him to tell Lauren.
It is celebration time too for Bailey but on a more low key level - sharing pizza and soft drinks with Mason/Kate. Mason puts on a brave face in front of his brother but when he leaves to chat to Rani on the phone, he admits to Kate that he's dreading being sent to prison. She tries to reassure him that won't happen but he's already thinking the worst.
MASON: I'm scared. I don't know if I can hack it.
Matt/Lauren arrive at the bar for their celebratory meal with the Rebecchi's (Ajay is parking the car). Paul can't but help goad Matt about the leniency they received when he goes to the bar to get the drinks menu. Lauren comes to rescue her husband and Paul decides not to say what he was going to say to her (he mentioned to Matt that he was looking for her) and instead retreats to a quiet corner of the bar to call the potential new hotel manager for an interview - Terese Willis married to the local teacher and it would appear to be ex- Ramsay Street resident (and Lauren's ex) Brad Willis!
Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Paul showing Terese Ramsay Street and subtly asking if she knows about the past.
- Amber trying to find out how Chris' date went/then interrupting their next date.
- Lucas denying Sonya's claims.
- Steph inviting Lucas on a trip.
