- Andrew warns Sophie not to get her hopes up around Zoe.
- Andrew and Sophie catch Paul and Zoe kissing.
Lassiters Complex
A smitten Paul walks Zoe to her car, kindly opening her door for her. He is keen for one more kiss, but she is concerned about their embrace getting in the way of business matters. Paul claims he is able to compartmentalise his life and keep the two separate, but is interrupted by a phone call. Zoe has a new PR campaign all set to go for him.
Harold's Store/ Number 22
At Harold's, Zoe explains to Paul and Andrew about the photo shoot she has organised.
ZOE: We shall call it 'At Home with the Robinsons'
Over at Number 22, Sophie is chuffed that Paul wants her to be involved.
Andrew thinks the name is naff.
Paul asks Sophie to consider changing her outfit, but she isn't impressed. Zoe tells her she can stay how she is, nose ring included.
Zoe offers to include a mention for Robinson's Entertainment for Andrew to sweeten the deal. Andrew remains hesitant so Zoe escapes to the toilet to give the men a chance to talk it through. Andrew is quick to ask his father what the latest situation is with Zoe given he and Sophie just saw them together. Paul reminds his son that he's allowed to have a bit of fun.
PAUL: Just lighten up will you, Grandpa.
Number 28
Karl returns to find Tash pricing up her old uni books. He's glad she's going to find something that suits her, but she admits she hasn't considered a new uni course yet. Karl is rather surprised to hear she's intending to work at Charlie's for the next six months, but Tash explains that she doesn't want to make the same mistake as last time and is going to give herself time to choose the right course.
KARL: Tash, don't waste your talents.
Charlie's
Down at the bar, Tash has started her shift for the night and already got off on the wrong foot with Kate (by refusing to take a tray to the kitchen). Kate ignores Tash's comment and passes her the number of a guy who is sat over in the corner watching her. Tash immediately puts the number in a jar, along with lots of others and returns her attention to the bar.
Moments later a young lad appears with a napkin. Assuming it's yet another number; Tash tells him not to bother, grabs the napkin from him and places it into her jar. The lad doesn't move and eventually asks for his napkin back.
TASH: That looks like algebra.
ED: Actually it's differential calculus, I was going to ask for another napkin.
Number 28
Ajay and Karl are pleased with the success from their article in the paper and start reviewing their applicants. Unfortunately, it would seem that each is after something different from their third band member.
Charlie's
Tash casually asks the guy about his maths work. He explains he's studying maths at the university. Spotting that he's got stuck, Tash offers to help, but he politely declines explaining that it's way above school level maths and hasn't got time to explain it to her. Annoyed, Tash heads off to serve some other customers, but whilst he pops to the toilets she quickly heads over and completes his equations for him.
Realising he judged her too quickly the guy heads to the bar to get an explanation, but Tash refuses to give him one and explains she doesn't have time.
Number 22
The Robinson's are at home setting up for the photo shoot. Sophie eventually appears having worked on her outfit for the past hour. Paul can't believe what took her so long but Zoe comments that she looks great and it's time to start. The photographer quickly springs into action and takes shots of them in the kitchen drinking coffee; at the dining table around Andrew's laptop; on the sofa with Sophie playing guitar and it's a wrap. Sophie grabs the opportunity to ask the photographer to take one final one of them all, including Zoe. Sophie asks her to sit next to Paul and the family photo is complete.
Charlie's
Tash is surprised to see the maths guy still hanging around. He introduces himself as Ed and once the pleasantries are over, he admits he didn't expect her to be so good at maths. Realising he's digging himself into a hole, he hands her a flyer for the maths club he is part of.
TASH: Sorry, this just isn't me.
ED: Why not? Because people might think you are a nerd?
TASH: I didn't say that.
ED: That's a pretty sad reason not to do something you're good at.
...and with that he heads off, hoping she'll change her mind.
Number 22
Sophie is taking a look at the photos when Andrew appears. Paul wonders why his son is still so frosty with him. As Sophie heads upstairs on the phone, Andrew reminds his father that Zoe means a lot Sophie, especially as she lost her mum and is fighting with her sister. He shows Paul the photo Sophie was looking at (her and Zoe hugging). Paul realises his relationship is having a big impact on his niece.
Later, Zoe pops over to show Paul the official photos. Sophie is pleased to see her and Zoe tells her she is a natural in the pictures. Paul sends his niece on her way to see Rani. Zoe sees it as her opportunity to ask Paul for a 'thank you' date. Paul admits they will need to slow down a bit, she was right not to mix business with pleasure. Zoe is clearly disappointed but agrees to his decision and makes a quick exit.
Number 28
Karl and Ajay are still puzzling over who to invite to join them in the band. It's not going well when Karl suggests an applicant who it turns out Ajay defended for theft. Ajay suggests inviting one of his old colleagues, but isn't sure about being up against two lawyers. Ajay is amused and suggests they look for an architect.
KARL: It's about bringing different life experiences, different perspectives.
AJAY: If he brings his own amp and leads, I'm happy.
Karl begins to wonder why they are even looking for a bassist in the first place. He believes they are fine on their own and even Ajay agrees to tell Andrew they are going to be a duo. Putting the applications down the men pick up their instruments and start playing.
Charlie's
Andrew asks Kate if Karl and Ajay can have a gig as a duo. She agrees on the basis he can get Tash to start doing some work. Over at the bar, Andrew realises Tash has been daydreaming. Grabbing the flyer he learns about Ed and the maths club.
ANDREW: Can you maths nerds smell each other? Did he have antennae on his head like science fiction characters?
Andrew is surprised she's even interested and Tash reminds him she topped their year at school. Realising he's only going to annoy her more, she sends him out the bar.
Number 28
Karl and Ajay are just finishing their rehearsal as Tash arrives home. She explains how her shift was frustrating and that she was considering going to the maths club till Andrew came along and teased her over it. Karl reminds her to live life for herself and she can't be ruled by what other people think.
Community Centre
Tash pops her head into the maths club door but can't quite bring herself to go in. Turning to leave, Ed spots her heading out the building.
