Road somewhere/Garage
Lucas is blowing off the cobwebs by going for a very fast ride before arriving at the garage. He is just in when Chris spots they have visitors - the police! Supt. Hayes is round for a chat with Lucas over Michael's car being torched and he is asked to accompany them to the station for an interview.

Police Station
Supt. Hayes quizzes Lucas about his movements on the day the Sandman was torched. He seems to accept what Lucas has said then quizzes him on his relationship with Michael. "What do you want me to say?" Lucas asks him back then says that they are neighbours and work in the school together. Supt. Hayes seems happy enough with his replies and lets Lucas go with no hassle when he asks if they are done, simply getting him to read something and then sign it but he does give Lucas a warning as he is just about to exit - don't go far!

LUCAS: You seriously looking at me for this?
SUPT. HAYES: We're just covering all the bases.

Ramsay Street
Emilia quickly heads to where Michael is standing in the #32 garden when both of them spot Tash going to pick the mail up from #28's letterbox to say give it more time. Michael however is all up for going now to talk to her but Emilia thinks its best not to say anything now, to give her more time to digest what's happened otherwise he risks alienating her further.

Number 28
Sum tries to chat to Tash when she comes back in with the mail about what she is going to do (over the car being torched) but Tash is keen to totally ignore what happened especially as nobody got hurt. Their chat is curtailed when Karl returns from his run and Tash is embarrassed with what he is wearing and wants to do a makeover on him!

Garage
Lucas is back from his chat with the police and Chris suggests he should have a chat with Toadie but Lucas doesn't want to because he has done nothing wrong at all. "What would you tell me to do if it was me?" Chris pleads and this seems to get through to his boss.

Number 30
Sonya is continuing sorting out the house when Lucas drops by for a chat with Toadie. Lucas tells them that the police suspect he torched Michael's car and is taken aback when Toadie says that he'll need to run it by work first before he can represent Lucas. "This is personal, it's got nothing to do with your work," Sonya points out to him but Toadie replies that his work might not be happy at him doing backyarders.

LUCAS: Do you think I did it?
TOADIE: I'm not saying that. It's my hands are tied, I'm not my own boss anymore.
LUCAS: You didn't answer the question.

Toadie kind of scoffs at his reply and Lucas walks out of the house, asking Toadie to forget they had this conversation.

Garage
The police are back around and Chris says that Lucas isn't home but Supt. Hayes wants a chat with Chris.

Number 30
Sonya and Toadie have a domestic over Lucas.

Garage
Chris lets slip to Supt. Hayes about Michael stealing Emilia from Lucas.

Number 30
Toadie points out that Lucas isn't a saint - he did ram his car when Lucas wrongly thought he was going out with Steph after they'd broken up. "And what Michael and Emilia have done is far worse and Lucas is a lot angrier," Toadie adds.

Garage
"How angry?" Supt. Hayes asks Chris and he tries to play down exactly how angry Lucas was before asking him to talk to Lucas. Supt. Hayes asks if Lucas took out his frustration on anyone... on Michael? Chris doesn't reply but instead continues to work away on a car.

Number 30
"Do you believe he did this?" Sonya asks and Toadie immediately replies "no". When Sonya then pushes him on why he won't help, replies that he can't pick up cases like he used to previously, he has bosses now! Sonya then asks Toadie to find someone who can help Lucas - he is their friend.

Garage
"It was just a bit of a shove," Chris tries to tell Supt. Hayes when quizzed about the 'assault' on Michael by Lucas.

Charlie's
Toadie comes looking for Lucas to introduce him to Ajay his new lawyer since his hands are tied. Lucas isn't too overjoyed at the thought of the Councillor representing him until Toadie explains that Ajay is more experienced in this sort of matters than he is which convinces Lucas.

(Later)
Ajay and Lucas get down to business with the lawyer getting some background information from Lucas on prior incidents he's had I.e. Toadie's car. Lucas is still a bit bemused at being in the frame and Ajay departs to inform Supt. Hayes that he's now got representation and warns Lucas not to talk to the police without him being present.

Chris swaps places with Ajay and then fills Lucas in on the chat he had with Supt. Hayes and how he may have dropped him in it!

Number 28
Tash is dreading the world seeing Karl in his awful leggings when he chats to the girls about the forthcoming fun run. Sum then thinks that going shopping with Tash might be a good distraction for her.

Number 32
"Don't do it!" Emilia warns Michael when he picks up his phone. She again reassures him to be patient and they both get their hopes up when they hear a knock at the door but when Michael goes to answer it, it isn't Tash he finds but Supt. Hayes!

Supt. Hayes explains why he is round and that Michael can get what is left of the Sandman back now forensics has finished with it. He explains to Michael that the fire was started in the back and that they have got enough evidence to press charges. "You have a suspect?" Michael asks and Supt. Hayes replies that they are "not ruling anyone out at this stage."

MICHAEL: You think you know who did it?
SUPT. HAYES: Odds are its someone you know. Forensics should confirm our suspicions so hopefully you won't have to wait too long.

Supt. Hayes leaves promising to keep them updated once he knows more and as soon as the door is closed, Michael turns to Emilia and says "he knows its Tash."

Harold's Store
Michael and Emilia chat about the police visit and Tash's involvement - her stance is for them to do nothing in the hope that it peters out. Ajay approaches them wanting to chat about Lucas and when he does, Michael is abundantly certain that Lucas wasn't involved. "That's interesting," Ajay musses before asking if there is anyone else Michael can think of that could have done it. "Nobody," Michael replies back.

Number 28
Karl is impressed at the makeover Tash has done on him even if it did cost a fortune!

Chris drops by to fill Tash (and Summer) in about the police thinking it was Lucas who torched her dad's car. He then puts 2+2 together and figures out that it was Tash that is responsible.

Harold's Store
Ajay leaves Michael and Emilia a happy man after their chat and Emilia tells Michael that she now thinks Tash didn't torch the Sandman.

MICHAEL: Yes but she did and if I protect her... what about Lucas?

Number 28
Chris wants Tash to say something (to get Lucas off) and she agrees too.

Police Station
Michael calls round to talk to Supt. Hayes and say that Lucas wasn't involved. "I see," Supt. Hayes replies then asks for Michael to explain then what did happen. Michael conjures up that he and Emilia were having a candlelit champagne meal but the weather turned windy so they decided to move it into the back of the Sandman and when they went for a post-meal walk, a candle he thought was out obviously wasn't. "And you're only telling me this now?!" Supt. Hayes remarks, for which Michael apologises for before making it clear he doesn't want Lucas held responsible for his stupidity. Their chat is then interrupted when a constable knocks and shows Tash into the room!

Michael immediately tells Tash that he's sorted it all out and there is no need for her to worry he'll get into trouble, then tries to subtly tell her the excuse he's used I.e. the candles.

Supt. Hayes seems satisfied and asks for Michael to put everything in a statement, which he is happy to do, so Hayes leaves to get it set up. Tash doesn't seem happy at her father covering up what she did as she turns and exits the room and station with Michael in hot pursuit!

Police Station exterior
Michael finally catches up with Tash and explains why he did what he did. "So I'm supposed to be grateful?" she asks and when he doesn't reply, she adds in "gee thanks."

MICHAEL: I don't understand.
TASH: You always do this. You always try to cover things up, hide it away, pretend it never happened.
MICHAEL: Tash.
TASH: And now I know why... because you stuffed up. You stuffed up and then you lied to me for sixteen years.
MICHAEL: I never wanted you to suffer from my mistakes.
TASH: But I am.
MICHAEL: I'm so sorry Tash.
TASH: I don't want your pity. I torched your precious car. I did it and I knew exactly what I was doing.

Michael tries to make her aware of where she is confessing at especially as she isn't exactly saying it quietly but no, Tash wants everyone to hear!

TASH: This is exactly what I'm talking about. You always try to manage me, make things magically okay again.
MICHAEL: I was trying to help.
TASH: You can't fix this.
MICHAEL: I'm your father, I have to at least try.
TASH: You're not my father... you're a failure.

Tash makes to go off and Michael tries to pull her back to talk more but she isn't having that.

TASH: Don't you get it? I don't need you. I don't want anything from you ever, so leave me alone.

Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Michael fearful that this is the end of him/Tash.
- Emilia going to speak to Tash.
- Fun run day.
- Michael/Lucas confrontation.
- Emilia telling Michael to fix things with his daughter.
