Recap
- Troy talking to Callum on the street
- Toadie yelling at Troy and Sonya
- Summer and Andrew getting closer again
- Lyn telling Summer they're moving to Bendigo
Number 26/Lassiter's Complex
Lyn's excited about moving because it means Oscar can live with them again but still be close to Joe, but Summer isn't keen at all. She reminds Lyn that Year 12's too important to mess up, and she doesn't want to leave her friends behind. But Lyn says there's always Facebook and that she's already spoken with a principal in Bendigo who sounded very supportive.
Meanwhile, Andrew's waiting outside Harold's for Summer to show up. Chris and Tash stroll past on their way to the basketball court (Chris to practise and Tash to perve), and they're happy to hear that Summer's going to be joining Andrew.
Summer's angry with Lyn for organising everything behind her back. Lyn says she made a tough decision but had to think about what was best for all of them, but Summer knows this isn't the best decision for her.
Ramsay Street
Lyn chases Summer down the driveway and tries to get her to come back and chat but Summer doesn't want a bar of her. She dials Andrew and says she needs to talk to him. Jade says hello on her way over to #30 but Summer ignores her.
Number 30
Jade barges in and tells Toadie he needs to do something about Troy hanging around Sonya. Toadie's relieved to learn that Jade doesn't like the guy either. Jade explains that Troy was the one who sent Sonya off the rails when she was a teenager and Jade doesn't think he's a changed man. Toadie's concerned but doesn't think there's a hell of a lot he can do.
TOADIE: You know you're the reason why I went looking for him in the first place. So how come you're on my side?
JADE: Because I now realise that you're Callum's father. You have his best interests at heart.
Toadie's worried that Sonya and Troy are going to create this whole other family he's not a part of, so Jade gets the idea that Toadie should engage Callum in some family time with his own relatives. That way Cal will know where he really belongs.
Later, Toadie shows Callum the distance between Melbourne and Colac on a map. He says that Angie and Big Kev are really keen to have them stay for a while. Callum's surprised he'll be allowed to have a week off school, but Toadie pretends he'll be all booked up with work during the next school holidays. Before Callum goes to pack he wants to go to #24 and tell Sophie about his trip. But Toadie's wary of him seeing Troy and tells Cal to phone Sophie instead.
Number 28/Charlie's Bar
Susan's stunned when Lyn tells her that she's leaving Erinsborough. Lyn explains that Charlie has been so unhappy without his mum around and is excited about moving, but Summer's a completely different story. Charlie runs in after feeding the chickens and asks Lyn if they can get some chooks at their new place. He then happily informs Susan that he's going to see his mummy a lot more soon.
Summer has filled Andrew in on Lyn's plan, but he's being oddly quiet about everything. Summer tries to get a reaction out of him but he's gone into shut down mode and tells her that Lyn's plan is probably for the best.
Susan starts to get upset and tells Lyn that she's going to miss her so much. Lyn gives her a sad smile and takes hold of her hand.
LYN: I'm going to miss you too. Oh, what we've been through.
SUSAN: I know. I don't know what I'm going to do without you. You're my best friend.
Summer's heart is crushed even further when Andrew tells her he can help her pack up her belongings if she needs it. He then makes a quick escape but can't help throwing a conflicted look her way before he heads out the door.
First Commercial Break
Number 26
Chris is the next one in line to hear the bad news from Summer. He doesn't know what he'll do without her around and says that Tash doesn't quite fill the best friend role like her. Summer gets upset at the thought of leaving, and even more so when Chris brings up Andrew. She tells Chris that all Andrew did was give her practical advice about packing and that they're just friends.
Number 22
Andrew's moping around the house, annoying Paul with his loud music, when Chris arrives for a chat. Paul tells Chris to try and suss out what's bothering his son since Andrew won't talk to him about it. Chris doesn't get why Andrew's being so distant with Summer, but Andrew says there's nothing he can do that will change Lyn's mind so there's no use getting involved. He thinks that going on about it will only make things worse for Summer. But Chris says that's the dumbest thing he's ever heard, even by Andrew's standards.
Ramsay Street
Sonya notices Callum packing the boot of Toadie's car and is surprised to learn that the #30 boys are heading off to Colac. When Toadie emerges from the house (and Cal heads back in for the rest of the luggage), Sonya lets him know how annoyed she is that he's just running away from the situation. They get into an argument about Troy and whether he's changed or not, just as Jade crosses the street to join them. Sonya soon finds out it was Jade's idea for Toadie and Callum to take the trip, but Jade says that Toadie deserved to know what Troy was like. Meanwhile, Callum's returned and sussed out that they're talking about him. The adults try to brush it off as nothing, but Callum wants to know what's going on and who this Troy person is. Toadie makes a face at Sonya, warning her not to spill the beans, but Sonya just wants to be honest with Cal.
SONYA: Troy was the man you met while you were playing soccer earlier.
TOADIE: Sonya, don't!
SONYA: He's your father, Cal.
Callum looks completely gobsmacked.
Second Commercial Break
Number 30
Toadie watches while Callum gets more information about Troy from Sonya. She explains that they got into trouble together when they were young, but she was the only one who got caught by the cops. Sonya adds that Troy's in the army now and he's changed his life around, just like her. Callum doesn't understand why Troy's only just coming to see him now, but soon learns that Troy didn't know he'd been born. Sonya says she thought she did the right thing at the time.
CALLUM: And now he wants to meet me.
TOADIE: You don't have to do anything you don't want to do, mate.
SONYA: But if you do want to meet him you wouldn't be alone. Toadie and I, we're here for you and we could all meet him together.
Callum then wonders how long Toadie knew about Troy and if he was ever going to tell him. Toadie says of course he was, but Sonya adds they were just waiting for the right time. Looking overwhelmed, Callum stands up and says he's going to his room. Sonya witheringly asks Toadie if he's still going to Colac, but Toadie says it's not up to him. They each look completely annoyed with one another.
Number 22
Andrew paces around and tries to choose some DVDs to watch, but isn't in the mood for anything. Tash lets herself in so she can tell Andrew off for not going after Summer. She thinks he should be more upset and confesses that the idea of not having Summer around is kind of weird.
TASH: She can be so annoying, and she always has to do the right thing even if it is boring. And she is a walking fashion disaster, not to mention her fringe. But she's my friend and I'm going to miss her.
Not getting the reaction she wants from Andrew, Tash decides to leave, but warns him not to let Summer know what she just said.
Number 26
Chris has brought over some DVDs to watch with Summer, but she knows he's also there to try and get her to talk about Andrew. Summer isn't keen on wasting her breath talking about him, but Chris says that Andrew's just putting on a front to hide his real feelings. He tells Summer what Andrew told him earlier about not wanting to cause a fuss and make things harder for her. Summer absorbs this information before making a dash out the door.
Number 22
It's Summer's turn to burst in without knocking as she calls out for Andrew. He appears from upstairs and tries to remain distant with Summer, but she tearfully begs him to drop the act and just be real with her.
SUMMER: Stop this.
ANDREW: I'm not doing anything.
SUMMER: You are, you're pushing me away and you've done it before for my own good.
ANDREW: Your Nan's made up her mind. It's the best thing for your family.
SUMMER: (crying) Stop trying to be my friend, Andrew. I thought we had more than that and I know you feel the same way I just need to hear you say it.
ANDREW: We're friends, Summer, that's all it is.
He looks torn up but makes the decision to walk away from Summer - again.
Third Commercial Break
Number 30
Toadie and Callum sit down for dinner and talk about making the Colac trip into a weekender instead of a whole week. Addressing the elephant in the room, Callum works up the confidence to ask Toadie if it'd be OK to meet Troy. Toadie looks hurt but tries to remain positive for his son and says he'll give Sonya a call and set up a meeting soon.
Preview
(Tomorrow on Neighbours)
CHRIS: So you've both given up?
SUMMER: What do you expect? This is what Andrew wants.
(Tash tries to talk some sense into Andrew)
TASH: It's clear that you two should be together, so why don't you just pull your head in and tell her.
(Summer and Andrew argue about the zombie film)
SUMMER: This needs emotion, Andrew. You know, feelings? But I guess that's a bit too much to ask from you isn't it.
(Meanwhile, changes are afoot at #26)
KYLE: Lyn said I could rent her place when she leaves.
MARK: I'm moving into the Scullys' house.
(Jade lets Kyle know she's not down with this plan)
JADE: You can't let him. I don't want to deal with him living next door.
KYLE: You've got a thing for Brenno!
JADE: I do not have a thing for Brenno.
KYLE: (joking) Why, 'cause you've already been there?
JADE: They were broken up!
(Kate chats to guilty Jade about Mark)
KATE: There's one reason I can think of why he wants to move in - because he wants to be closer to me! I reckon this move could be good for everyone.
