Ramsay Street
Donna sits on the wall with Ringo's ring crying. Rebecca tries to get her to come inside but Donna wants to be left alone.
The next morning Harry and Sophie are on the way to school. Sophie doesn't want to wait for Callum, and Harry doesn't know what he'd say to Andrew either. They pass Donna on her way back from a run and decide they wouldn't know what to say to her either. Rebecca comes out to pick up the paper and tries to get Donna to talk and tells her not to hate herself too much.
REBECCA: You're eighteen. You're going to do things in life that you regret. We all do.
DONNA: He's gone because of me. I deserve everything I get.
Donna goes inside as Susan passes. She and Rebecca exchange woes about their respective kids. Susan isn't convinced Susan is doing as well as she says.
Number 30
Libby is in cleaning mode wearing a pair of gloves that would have gone very well with Donna's jogging gear. Sonya and Callum pop in with Rocky and Callum tries on Dan's leather jacket. Libby snaps at him to take it off then apologises and explains that she's just been clearing out Dan's stuff. Libby finds out that Sonya hasn't heard from Toadie and is appalled. She thinks Sonya should get on the phone and tell him to get straight back. Sonya protests that it's fine and time apart can be good. She asks how Libby is.
LIBBY: Freedom is fantastic.
She says that Susan convinced her to take another week off school, but she doesn't think she needs to. She's going to though. Yes, it is a bit of a head scratcher. Sonya is clearly a bit freaked out so goes to check up on Callum, one of the few normal RS residents.
Erinsborough High
Sophie is confused as to why Callum has switched lockers but all becomes clear when the "cool kids" join "Jonesy" to share a really awesome song with him. Sophie tries to involve herself but gets completely blanked. Cal says he has Maths with dogface next and the other boys howl their appreciation/derision of "dogface".
Callum walks off leaving Sophie alone and miffed.
The Gym
Libby catches up with Lucas who doesn't know the difference between Girl Guides and Scouts. He asks how she is and she replies that she'd forgotten how good Freedom feels. Lucas is not that impressed with Libby's attitude but is glad she's happy. Lib comments that Steph must be happy that Lucas is much stronger now but she hasn't been able to contact her BBFF. Lucas admits he hasn't spoken to her either.
LIBBY: Hang on a second. Steph is held up in the country somewhere not calling you and Toadie is not calling Sonya.
LUCAS: Yeah, Lib, I'm not worried about it.
LIBBY: How can you be not worried when you haven't spoken to her?
Libby decides she should go and find them. They're her best friends and she's going to sort it out.
Number 30
Lucas has followed Libby home where she is calling Toadie to find out what's going on. She tells him she's going to visit and asks to speak to Steph.
LIBBY: What do you mean she's busy. Tell her I'm here with Lucas.
Toadie hangs up and Libby is non- plused. She grabs her keys and says she's going to drive down and see them. Lucas points out she doesn't even have an address so she reaches for the phone again.
LUCAS: Libby, please stop. Look, I don't know where Steph's head is at right now but I trust her. Let's just leave it.
LIBBY: But I wanna go.
Susan (who arrived mid phone call to Toadie and who has been standing bewildered since) reminds her that she was going to pick up Ben from school. Libby remembers she was going to make him pikelets and heads off to the kitchen leaving Susan and Lucas concerned about her erratic behaviour.
Harold's
Rebecca is on a covert operation to retrieve sugar from her neighbour and nemesis without her finding out when she spots Donna moping . Rebecca explains that she knows what it is like to be on the receiving end of infidelity but that she surprised herself and forgave Paul and in time Ringo might surprise her. Donna says it's too late, and Rebecca reminds her that Paul never gave up on her and now they're stronger than ever.
REBECCA: You've just got to stop worrying about it. You need a distraction.
DONNA: I don't deserve a distraction.
Libby prances into the store for pikelet ingredient and spots Sonya and suggests they do something tonight. Something fun. Sonya wonders whether Toadie put her up to this and is a little uncomfortable because she doesn't really know Libby that well. Libby thinks that if everyone else can be away having fun, they can have fun too. They'll call it her divorce party. Sonya is freaked out again. Understandably.
Number 30
Susan is watching Libby trying on shoes for her "divorce party" and wonders what exactly it is that Libby is celebrating. Libby gives her Braveheart "Freedom" line again.
LIBBY: Is there something wrong with that?
SUSAN: Not necessarily.
LIBBY: What then?
SUSAN: You just seem to be trying very hard to convince everyone that you're okay.
LIBBY: I am okay.
SUSAN: Lib, your marriage has ended. It's like the end of anything, there's a grieving process...
LIBBY: So you want me to be miserable?
SUSAN: Of course not.
LIBBY: Listen, mum, I'm in a really good place right now and if you can't accept that, that's your problem.
SUSAN: I just don't think you can get over a marriage in a few days.
Libby thinks Susan would rather she fell apart so she can pick up the pieces and feel useful. Susan is indigent.
LIBBY: When are you going to stop interfering? Haven't you learned anything?!
Confused and hurt, Susan decides to head off and Libby continues to try on shoes.
Charlie's
Libby doesn't seem to remember why she's there, but when she sees Lucas she asks him about clubs or her divorce party. Lucas suggests that a divorce party might be a little bad taste, but Libby isn't listening and wonders if Rebecca would want to join them. Libby spots Donna and excitedly invites her along. Donna thinks it might be weird as Libby was her teacher but is scared into joining in. Libby will pick her up at six. Is it just me, or is that not rather early?
Erinsborough High
Sophie is lost. I have no idea how when there's only one classroom she ever needs to sit in and all her other scenes will be in the hallway by the lockers where is currently is. Harry comes to her rescue who wonders where Callum is. Sophie tells him he didn't go to maths and that nobody likes her, they think she's a nerd.
HARRY: Well one day you'll be their boss and can give them hell.
Harold's
Callum and the mini "cools" are bunking off. The mini ring leader pinches a chocolate bar from the counter and dares Callum to as well. Cal is uncomfortable and instead orders a chocolate milkshake from Jumilla.
Erinsborough High
Sophie has clearly cottoned on to the fact that "science block" means TheOnlyClassroomInErinsborough but with different posters. She sits alone and when the bell goes all the other girls leave in a gaggle and ignore her.
Harold's
Callum Cool and the Gang are skipping class with "Dogface" and are howling accordingly. Jumilla is angry at this very slight and brief increase in the noise level. She frowns and says that if they don't keep it down she'll ring the Principle AND Mrs Kennedy. Callum looks uncomfortable.
Erinsborough High
The boys are ribbing Cal about Jumilla threatening to call Susan, but think it's ok as long as she doesn't call Dogface. Sophie hears them and howls the Dogface howl. The boys give her a "urgh, who said you could be cool" look.
DEAN: Hey Ramsay, you know what's worse than a loser? A wannabe.
SOPHIE: Yeah, well I'll remember that when I'm your boss.
DEAN: Hey Jonesy, what were you telling me before? Come on, you remember....
CALLUM: About nerds...
DEAN: Yeah, right. What about them? *sigh* Do you become a nerd because you're ugly orrrr...
CALLUM: Do you become ugly because you're a nerd?
DEAN: See ya Ramsay!
Sophie walks away hurt (it's going around today) and Callum feels bad.
Harold's
Lucas and Donna run into each other again. Lucas nebs in Donna's shopping bag and finds comfort food.
DONNA: You don't need to feel sorry for me.
LUCAS: Yeah, but I do. You just have to give people time...
DONNA: Are you managing ok? With Steph gone and stuff.
Lucas assures her he's fine and that all you need to do is sneeze and casseroles come flying through the door. Donna cracks a smile and Lucas is pleased to see it. Donna remarks that some of the best memories she has is of hanging out with Lucas and Elle. Lucas thinks the best is yet to come. They have a hug and Donna leaves bumping into Sonya on the way.
Over at another table Susan is contemplating calling Libby. She spots Sonya and invites her over for a chat. Susan realises they don't know each other very well, but she's concerned about the "divorce party" and Sonya agrees to watch out for her and be a friend.
Number 22
The door is open so Libby and Sonya go in, but there's no word from Donna. Libby makes herself at home (well, I suppose she used to live there) but Sonya thinks it's a bit weird and also doesn't drink. Libby calls for Donna again and Rebecca comes down. She thinks a night on the town might be good for Donna but can't join them because she's got to go back to work. Libby says it would be fun and Rebecca is a bit confused that Libby didn't seem to understand her original answer. She goes up to check on Donna and Libby and Sonya follow, Libby nearly falling over ("and I haven't even had any champers yet. Watch out!") Donna's room is Donnaless and has been left in a mess with clothes gone and cupboard doors open. Rebecca wonders if she said anything to Libby or Sonya and is annoyed that she has quite a habit of running off when things get tough. Libby seems a bit zoned out.
Downstairs Rebecca worries and Libby pours more champagne and assures her that it isn't her fault. Libby thinks it's time to go but Sonya thinks they should make it another night. Libby tells her not to be such a killjoy and passes out.
