- Cass proclaiming there's only room for one Mrs Robinson
- Dan proposing to Libby
- Libby keeling over in pain at the gym
- Libby telling Dan she's marrying him no matter what
- Didge kicking Declan out of home
- Rebecca joining her son
Charlie's Bar/Harold's Store
Rebecca and Declan perch sullenly at the bar, wondering where they're going to live. Rebecca reluctantly puts in a call to Paul, hoping to get mates rates at Lassiter's, but is perturbed when Cass answers the phone. Cass pretends Paul's not there (he‘s standing obliviously at the counter buying coffees). Rebecca isn't impressed.
The Napiers thank Steph profusely for letting them stay, but Steph's off to visit Lyn next week so their timing is perfect. Declan wanders off to try and call Didge while Rebecca sheepishly admits to Steph that she felt jealous when Cass answered Paul's mobile.
STEPH: No, Rebecca! In this house there are many things we feel for Paul Robinson: hatred, disapproval and disgust, they're our friends. But jealousy, we don't do jealousy.
Cass tries to score an invite to the wedding via Lucas and Steph but has no luck. Tegan and iSimon (I swear that iPod is glued to his head) look completely bored and want to go home, but Cass' eyes light up when Dan and Libby walk in to have drinks with Lucas and Steph. Cass attempts to weasel an invite out of them, but they won't bite. She does, however, learn that Libby still needs to pick up her bridesmaid dresses from the drycleaners.
Cass gets Tegan to distract the girl in charge while she sneaks out the back to steal the dresses. Things get hairy when Libby and Dan arrive to pick up the frocks, but Tegan just rambles at them until Cass rings her to say she'll meet her out the back.
Karl has stern words with Elle on the phone about her staff while Libby sits miserably with Dan and Susan at the table. Susan has brought out some old dresses as backups, but Libby isn't impressed.
SUSAN: Some of them you could almost call retro, couldn't you.
LIBBY: I'm getting married in 2009 not 1909!
Cass just so happens to pop by at the right time to return Susan's casserole dish (all bent out of shape), and “finds out” about the dress disaster.
CASS: Are these emergency dresses?
LIBBY: Mmm. For an emergency medieval banquet.
Cass reveals that she's a fashion school dropout and offers to jazz the frocks up for the bridesmaids, Susan and Rebecca. The only thing she wants in return is an invite to the wedding. Libby has no other alternative than to accept.
Libby sits on the couch in her PJs, holding an old troll doll. She feels another shooting pain run through her, but covers it up when Susan appears. Susan smiles when she sees Libby's old childhood toy and assures her daughter that tomorrow will be perfect.
SUSAN: When my MS was really bad, my biggest fear was that I wouldn't be here to see you happy and in love again.
Libby tears up and hugs Susan just as Karl shuffles out in his PJs and slippers. While they're all together, Libby asks her parents if they'd both walk her down the aisle tomorrow. Obviously they're delighted. Karl then presents Libby with a sapphire bracelet from both of them for her “something blue”. Aww, group hug.
Cass rocks up the next morning with the dresses. Ty and Rachel have a little chat about Rachel ditching the music biz, but Ty genuinely insists he's A-OK with her decision. Susan suddenly appears from the hallway in Cass' concoction - she looks like a hot mama in her vibrant red dress, which is overflowing with cleavage. Work it, girlfriend! Karl's jaw drops to the floor. Rebecca, however, has been lumped with the equivalent of a maternity dress. Cass smirks.
CASS: I added a little more fabric and I went with something a little more age-appropriate.
SUSAN: It's, uh, very original.
REBECCA: It's a sack!
CASS: I knew it would suit you!
Cass leaves and Susan tries to placate Rebecca, but she throws a mini-tantrum.
Montsalvat - Wedding Venue
The ceremony is set to take place in a courtyard in front of a beautiful old building. The guests (including Paul, Cass, Declan, Elle and Ringo) are all milling around waiting for Dan and Libby to arrive. Rebecca glares at Cass while someone behind her fixes a sash around her waist to lessen the sack-effect.
REBECCA: (grumbling) That crack about my age... I should have clocked her one.
(Cass sneers at her, Rebecca scowls)
REBECCA: (to her helper) Sorry.
(Donna pops up as the random Mrs Fix-It)
DONNA: That's OK, I've wanted to clock her plenty of times.
Donna tells Rebecca that her mum sees her as competition. Rebecca snits that Cass is welcome to Paul. Andrew Simpson appears out of thin air, complimenting Rebecca on her frock. Rebecca's morale is most-definitely boosted.
Things get exciting when the boys arrive in a fancy car. Toadie takes Callum's sunnies off him before leaving the Fitzgerald brothers to have a moment together. Lucas tells Dan he's truly happy for him and knows that he's going to have a fantastic life with Libby. They hug and make their way down to the makeshift altar. Bromance is alive and well.
Elle takes a seat in front of her dad and Lucas is caught staring at her. Dan grins when he sees the girls' limo pull up. Karl helps Rachel and Steph out, but Susan and Libby have a quick chat and a hug inside before Libby asks her mum to give her a moment alone. Dropping the happy facade, Libby grabs her stomach in pain.
Susan employs Steph to urge Libby to get a wriggle on, but Steph is alarmed when she sees her friend in agony. Steph wants to let Karl know what's happening and suggests Libby postpone the ceremony, but Libby determinedly insists that the show must go on. She is going to marry Dan today no matter what. Meanwhile, Dan can't stop fretting and decides to walk up the aisle to check on Lib, but she emerges from the limo just in time. Relieved, Dan goes back to his spot as the bridesmaids follow suit. Libby takes a parent on each arm and trails Ben and Charlie as they throw petals down the aisle.
Time lapses and Libby recites her vows to Dan while the guests fondly look on (Ringo steals a quick glance in Donna's direction). Dan's vows don't quite go as smoothly.
DAN: As I take your hands I promise to never let you go... (memory blank) Obviously you get your hands back in a sec. You know what I mean! I learnt this so I'm going to finish it. My heart is sure and my commitment is strong. I take you as my life's partner to spend all my days at your side (gets a sheepish grin on his face)... Aww, I've stuffed this!
(Everyone cracks up)
DAN: Listen Lib, every time I look at you, you drive me crazy. When I'm not with you I can't stop thinking about you. I can't be without you. I'm rapt that we finally got our act together so let's just get hitched, ay?
They exchange rings and Libby and Dan have their first kiss as a married couple.
The guests clap and cheer as Libby and Dan glide down the aisle. Beaming, Dan proudly introduces them all to his wife... Just as Libby collapses into his arms. Karl runs towards them while Dan fearfully yells for someone to call an ambulance. Cass intrusively thinks this is the perfect time for a Kodak moment and takes a snap with her camera. Weirdo.
