Steve admitting to Ned that he is claustrophobic.
Sam telling Libby about her miscarriage.
Susan telling Sam and Libby that there has been an accident.
The mine caving in.
Once the dust settles, Steve checks his brother but Ned is out cold.
Through on the other side, Steph does her best to free the rubble from Dan but thankfully he isn't too badly trapped or injured. They both begin shouting Ned and Steve's names.
The General Store
Marco and Carmy go through their ‘to do' list but he isn't chuffed to see on it extra father/daughter bonding time but Carmy asks him to give Ollie a break after all he did get the charges Marco was facing dropped.
Frazer and Rosie arrive and she is thrilled to have been late due to her morning sickness.
The four of them depart to move Carmy & Marco into No. 24 and Lou collars the newly arrived Didge to keep and eye on Mickey until Kirsten arrives because Ned hasn't arrived back from the SES training. Kirsten arrives seconds later, surprised that Ned is running late to pick up his son.
A full scale rescue operation is getting set up along with the compulsory journalists (Riley & Elle) and the doctor (Karl).
Riley has a quite word with Elle before they start their work to see if she is okay to work given the similarities between here and the warehouse but she assures him she'll be fine.
Karl questions why Libby is there but accepts her reasoning of being there for her “friends”. She tries to ask him about the rescue operation given he asked Sam to tell the paramedics about Dan's medical history (he's doing the same for Steph) and instead asks Riley instead. He informs her that Steph & Dan have no serious damage but his dad and Ned are still trapped and that his dad suffers from claustrophobia.
Steve slaps Ned awake and tries to get him to talk so he remains conscious after complaining about having a sore head. Ned recalls their dad using a phrase quoted to him (“you can't keep a good Parker down”) and says that when they get out, he and their father should talk. Steve pacifies him with a ‘yes' just to keep him talking.
At the other side, Dan can't make contact with the brothers but reassures Steph that they will get out. She opens up to him about how she treated Toadie but Dan tells her not to be too hard on herself because she told the truth.
They then start talking about his situation and he wishes that he could make things right with Libby but feels he can't due to his history with Sam.
Back with the brothers and Ned asks what Steve has against their father and he replies “he's a hard man” which is news to Ned. It seems that Steve was treated differently to his other siblings and given how he was treated feels that their dad doesn't deserve to be a grandfather…especially “after what he did to me”.
STEVE: You can tell me all you want what a great bloke he is but to me he's not mate, he never will be. Alright?
Unfortunately his audience has fallen asleep and Steve immediately tries to rouse him,
Carmy and Rosie give directions to the boys as they move the furniture around. Eventually Rosie tells Frazer to go into the kitchen to make her a snack.
FRAZER: Okay folks, you can have anything please as long as its scrambled eggs.
ROSIE: Strictly a one trick pony this one.
FRAZER: Ah excuse me, two tricks. Would you like it with toast or without?
Carmy suggests Marco cooks instead since he's a great cook and harbours ambitions to open his own restaurant. Marco tries to play the compliments down, reminding Carmy that he's got the responsibility of his family business.
Kirsten is trying to work whilst keeping Mickey entertained. Paul arrives and volunteers to play X's & O's with him instead.
Didge runs into the hotel to relay news about the accident and that Ned and Steve are trapped underground.
Karl shouts down to Dan and Steph and relays news that they'll be rescued soon but adds that there is no news on Ned and Steve yet.
Karl also mentioned that Libby and Sam are waiting on the surface so Steph asks Dan what he is going to do. Dan replies that signing the divorce papers should indicate how he feels but can't answer Steph's question when she pushes him on if he loves Sam.
STEPH: Dan listen, you can only deny your feelings for so long right but in the end they are going to come out and everyone you thought you were protecting is going to end up feeling hurt and manipulated. No one wins.
Sam and Libby quickly make their way to Dan and Steph as they are led into the waiting ambulances. Dan however refuses medical treatment because he wants to go back into the mine to get Steve and Ned out.
Kirsten tries the ‘no news is good news' routine but breaks down in tears when Didge asks why she hasn't told Mickey. The little lad soon finds out though when he comes out of his bedroom and overhears Miranda saying that Ned and Steve are in danger.
KIRSTEN: What happens if Ned dies? What's that going to do to Mickey?
Oops, just as she has said that she notices that Mickey is standing behind her.
Everyone is pleased with the meal Marco cooked and Frazer jokingly says that the two of them could go into business – Marco doing the cooking and him doing front of house. The ladies think is a great idea but Marco curtails any chat about it to resume moving furniture. After Frosie head outside, he makes his displeasure about it know to Carmy – the family business comes first but she suggests talking to his dad about it.
Dan finds where the mine has caved in and starts to remove the rubble until he eventually can see Steve.
DAN: Nice to see you old boy!
Karl tells Libby that they'll be keeping Steph in for observation and Dan appears after getting checked out but refuses to go home until news on the others has come through.
Elle pulls Riley aside to say she'll head back to the office to work on the story with Heather but before she goes, takes the opportunity to apologise to him for her behaviour towards him post warehouse roof collapse.
Mickey spots his dad being pushed on a trolley and wants to follow it but Kirsten pulls him back and reassures Mickey that everything will be fine with his dad. She explains to him that she just panicked earlier in the house and Mickey says that Paul her boyfriend should be here to support her.
KIRSTEN: Paul's not my boyfriend, he's my boss.
MICKEY: Its okay mum. I like him.
Miranda and Steve reunite and she suggests that he tells Ned the whole truth about his dad.
Karl tells Steph that she just has soft tissue injuries before letting her visitors enter. Libby and Dan enter and he updates her about Ned (he's having a skull x-ray). They then excuse themselves to allow Steph to rest and out in the corridor Dan tells Libby that they need to talk.
Dan explains that down in the mine he had time to think and just as he is trying to find the words to say he wants them to be together he starts slurring and forgetting his words, eventually collapsing into Libby's arms.
