Ned leaving Mickey with Frazer whilst Mickey has a swim in No. 30's pool.
Mickey overhearing Janae and Ned talking about his mother not coming back.
Prue telling Frazer the truth about his dead brother.
Mickey goes to retrieve a dead bird from the pool unaware that the pool has been electrified.
Following Mickey's electrocution/fall into the pool he's lying face down unconscious. Frazer calls out his name and then hears his mother's words in his head before attempting to call for help but nobody responds. Rosie is distracted by Pepper who wants to take a car for a test drive but Rosie tells her she's got to clean up following the family party. Back at the pool Frazer wheels his wheelchair so that it falls into the pool and drags Mickey to the side of the pool before starting mouth to mouth resuscitation. Rosie comes out and sees what's happening and Frazer tells her to call an ambulance - now!
Janae is skipping in the garage when Ned arrives with Jake. She tells him that seems to think that Mickey is important than some boxing match to which Ned replies that if she's not prepared, she'll get hurt. He then adds that he's come for her advice on how to tell Mickey about his mother; he just needs to know how. Janae just tells him to suck it up. Ned invites to Jog whilst he picks up Mickey from No. 30 so they head off for the street...
... where they find an ambulance outside and Mickey being wheeled out of No.30. Pepper tells him there was an accident in the pool and Rosie adds that Frazer got him breathing again but he hasn't come round. Ned goes with Mickey in the ambulance.
Toadie and Steph walk into the bar with Steph worrying that it's not going to be ready for the opening tonight as the building work continues. Adam has a bone to pick with Steph and tells that her high score in the Motorbike game is impossible to beat. Toadie randomly says something about Bums on Seats and Steph realises that as well as the launch of the bar, they should launch her election campaign. Toadie thinks it's a terrible idea because he wants the public to think she's a wholesome conservative electable, not a mother working late nights in a seedy bar. Some banter then ensures between Toadie and Steph over politics and Toadie tells she's attractive when she's all fired up and Steph tells he hasn't seen nothing yet.
Frazer sits in a darkened living room as Pepper and Rosie come in discussing the afternoon's events and Pepper leaves Rosie to talk to Frazer. Rosie says she'll call the hospital soon to see how he's doing. Frazer asks what if Mickey doesn't pull through. Rosie replies that she doesn't know how but he saved Mickey's life.
FRAZER: When I saw him in the water like that all I could think about was Mum - Mum coming out on Christmas Day and finding her own son.
ROSIE: Your little brother. I'm so sorry Fraze.
FRAZER: I can't be responsible for another kid's death.
Pepper comes in and tells Adam about Mickey being rushed to hospital. He, Steph and Toadie are shocked and Toadie rushes off to find out what happened whilst Adam comforts Pepper. Steph then asks whether both Adam and Pepper are starters for the opening that night. Adam Says he wouldn't miss it for quids until Pepper tells she and her dad are coming. He tells her he's got a physio appointment about his shoulder and asks Steph whether he can knock off early. She says yes and he leaves. Steph asks what's going on. Pepper tells her that when he's alright he's great but then does these secretive acts and can't help but think that her dad's right.
Tests are being done on Mickey and Ned is wondering what's taking so long.
NED: He's just a little kid.
JANAE: Yeah a tough little kid.
The doctor comes out and tells them that Mickey's starting to come round; He should be as new after observation. Janae is relieved but Ned says that Mickey should have his mum with him; what sort of parent doesn't leave their phone number? Janae tells him that this isn't Kirsten's or his fault over what happened; It's just one of those things. Toadie arrives and asks for details on what happened but before Ned can explain Mickey starts calling out to his mother. Ned heads into Mickey's room and tells he'll out of hospital in no time and when Mickey asks again where his mother is and that he wants to go home Ned tells him to rest up first.
Rosie is on the phone to Janae and is relived to hear about Mickey just as the electrician finally puts the power back. Rosie tells Frazer she thinks that the best news she's ever heard and kisses him telling him he's officially her hero. Electrician comes in and tells them that there wasn't a safety switch in the house but that they have one now. He then leaves and Rosie asks Frazer how he saved Mickey. Frazer has flashback to the incident which clearly shows him using his feet. Rosie wishes she'd been there and says that if Toadie had called electrician liked she'd asked him to this wouldn't have happened. Rosie leaves the room and Frazer moves his toes and realises that he regained movement in his legs during the incident.
Janae is sitting in the corridor when Kusan come round the corner having heard from Pepper about what happened to Mickey. Karl asks whether or not no. 30 has a safety switch. Janae doesn't know the details but does know that Frazer saved him. Karl thinks that it's so unfair Ned has to look after Mickey; where are the boy's parents. Susan quickly changes the subject and tells Janae they've spend the day searching for Tom; he spent a pleasant afternoon making wedding plans at the Cammenitis. As Kusan leave Ned comes out and tells Janae that Mickey's alright but also tells her he can't stay in Erinsborough and that if he can't find Kirsten he will offload Mickey to his older brother Steve in Sydney; he and his wife will take good care of Mickey.
JANAE: He's not some puppy you can fob off on your relatives.
NED: Janae, today proved I don't know the first thing about being a parent; It's the most responsible thing I can do.
JANAE: You don't mean that.
NED: It's for the best.
JANAE: It's not gonna stop you from thinking about him. Nobody in this world is going to love him like you do.
Rosie comes back in with Frazer's beer. She sees the look on his face asks whether he's had another memory about his brother but Frazer says he didn't. She asks whether he wants to talk about anything but he says not yet; he has to think this through on his own. Rosie leaves leaving Frazer looking thoughtful.
It's the opening of the new bar and Steph is a bag of nerves. Toadie attempts to get her to relax by saying that they're sitting; they're smiling and then tells her to go and take their hard earned cash. Pepper and Rosie are discussing Adam and Rosie tells Pepper that if he's gone to the physio, laugh about it and have a massage. Toadie gives them and Frazer drinks and in return Rosie gives him the electrician's bill! She tells him that as landlord he needs to start taking some responsibility. They then make a toast to Frazer's heroics. Frosie then head off back to the hospital whilst heads off in search off Adam. Rosie can't believe that Stpeh spent all that money on the building and kept the motorbike game.
Adam's House in the city
Adam stares at a photograph of his ex-girlfriend (I think) when Pepper knocks on the door and he lets her in. She realises he stood her up for a night alone in his house and tells him that if he didn't want to come to the Bar opening tonight for some reason, he should have just said so. Adam tells her he didn't mean to upset her. He didnit want to be in room with all those people and he's sorry he's disappointed her, Pepper however thinks he lied to her and demands to know he's avoiding her dad. When she doesn't get a response she storms out saying she should have listened to her dad; Adam doesn't deserve her.
Ned, Janae, Frazer and Rosie are in Mickey's hospital room. Ned says that it wasn't anyone's fault and tells Frazer that he should get a medal. A nurse comes in and tells the group to come back tomorrow. Ned doesn't want to leave and when the nurse tells him it's family only, Ned retorts that he is family. He then turns to Mickey
NED: I'm your dad
Mickey and Frosie look gobsmacked at the news.
Steph is offering food to the punters as Karl and Susan praise the place and congratulate Steph on her hard work. Susan asks what she's going to call the place but Steph tells her she just have to wait. Toadie tells Kusan that if he doesn't know and when Susan asks again, Steph decides to make her speech.
STEPH: I'd just like to say a few words. Firstly I'd like to welcome you all and thank you for coming. This is very special place to me and hopefully in time it will become special to you all as well. Hopefully it will be like the third place in your life you know home and work and here. You come here and catch up with friends or celebrate a birthday or even just read a book you know this is the place you'll always be welcome. So I give you - "Charlie's!"
Steph takes the cover off to reveal the logo which (for some reason) is upside down. After a few moments everyone seems delighted with the name and Toadie tells Steph that they're gonna make a party animal out of Charlie! Frosie come back in and Rosie tells Steph that Janae's running late and is still at the hospital. Steph asks Toadie to offer more food to the punters but as he does so, he inadvertently knocks into Frazer who tells him no harm was done. He tells Rosie he thinks he's overtired.
Ned and Mickey are talking about Ned's revelation whilst Janae looks on from the window.
MICKEY: You only said you were my Dad to fool the nurse - right?
NED: 'Fraid not.
MICKEY: You can tell me. I won't tell anyone.
NED: I wasn't making it up; I'm your dad and that's why your mum brought you here to stay with me.
MICKEY: Your not just pretending?
(Pause as Ned nods)
NED: So what do you think about it; me being your Dad.
Janae moves to the door and continues to listen to the conversation.
MICKEY: How come you never came to see me?
NED: Because I didn't know you existed, Until your mum brought you to Erinsborough.
MICKEY: What if you had known about me?
NED: I would have done everything I could to be a part of your life. Once I got over being a big scaredy cat that is.
MICKEY: You were scared?
Ned replies that he was and doesn't about being someone's dad and asks not to tell anyone he told him this. He then asks him about living with him for a while and that if he doesn't want to that's OK. Mickey asks whether he'll grow up to be as big as him and Ned replies only as long as he eats his vegetables.
Janae is moved to tears.
