Recap
Andrew tells Karl that he's unwilling to come out at work - people will be hostile towards him.
Billy and Toadie brawl.
School
Libby shouts at Billy to stop fighting, then Andrew comes along and breaks up the fight. Toadie has had his tooth knocked out, and Andrew advises him to go straight to the dentist. Billy gets a detention. Then Andrew asks Rupert why he didn't stop the fight - he gives him an after school detention.
No.26
Phil is typing away on a truly ancient computer, even by 1996 standards. He's frustrated that he can't get the langauge style for his romance right. Debbie advises him just to write the way young people speak. Phil says it's difficult to listen to conversations about teenage love without feeling like a pervert(!) Debbie offers to accompany him to the Coffee Shop as a cover!
No.28
Susan has heard about the fight and starts ranting at Billy as soon as he gets home. Libby also rants at him, but Billy is unrepentant, saying he'll never make up with Toadie - ever.
School
Rupert is in his after- school detention. He tells Andrew that he doesn't know what the fight was about - he was just letting them sort it out themselves. Andrew says the responsibility of a team captain is to help his team members sort things out. Andrew tells Rupert that if any more fights take place, he'll have to take the captaincy away from Rupert. Rupert still thinks that fighting was the best way to go(!) - if Andrew had ever played football he's understand. But Rupert says that's too much to expect from "someone like" Andrew.
No.32
Angie is ranting at Toadie about the fight, and won't believe it was over Melissa(!) Angie is surprised to hear that Toadie was kissing Melissa and looks rather interested(!) But she's upset when Toadie tells her it was just one kiss, and nothing will happen in the future.
Coffee Shop
Rupert is telling Libby that fighting is the best way to settle differences(!) Libby is not impressed and tells him there are better ways to solve problems. He tells her that's typical women thinking. Libby is even less impressed and says that Rupert had better get used to people disagreeing with him. Rupert goes on a rant about how all his past girlfriends have done whatever he wanted, so Libby angrily tells him she wants to break up.
No.32
George has come to see Toadie. Toadie is worried about his image because everything thinks Billy beat him up. George tells him that Billy is his best mate, and he should just make up with him - this rivalry over her is stupid. Toadie tells her the fight is not over George - it's because Billy is jealous of Toadie kissing Melissa. George looks upset.
Coffee Shop
Phil and Debbie have arrived to eavesdrop on teenage angst(!) Fortunately for them, Rupert and Libby is there. Rupert is apologising to Libby, saying she's the best girl that's been in his life. He asks her to forgive him as he's not used to going out with someone who's got a brain(!). Phil frantically makes notes(!). Libby and Rupert decide to make up.
Suddenly, Libby notices what Phil is doing and drags Rupert off.
RUPERT:(to Phil) Get a life, mate!
No.28
Karl is telling Billy off for fighting with Toadie. Billy insists that it's not a big deal, but Karl points out that Billy had concussion only last week! Karl wants to know what the story between Billy and Toadie is. When he's gone, Karl and Susan despair. Libby chips in and says the fight was over a girl.
KARL:(incredulously) You mean, Billy is worried about Jarrod's charm with the ladies?!
SUSAN: Maybe you should go and talk to him.
KARL: Yeah! Maybe I'd better!
No.26
Phil is typing up his story, while Debbie sorts out the laundry. Phil's book is going really well now, but he may need another coffee soon(!)
George comes in and Phil starts asking her about how she'd go about breaking up with someone. She looks a bit depressed and tells Phil she'd get it over quick. Then she stomps off.
No.28
Angie has brought Toadie around. She's come about the dentist bill for Toadie's tooth. Karl and Susan are shocked to hear that Billy knocked Toadie's tooth out. Karl inspects the tooth.
KARL: Better take good care of that tooth, Jarrod. Because we'll be owning half of it shortly.
Karl assures Angie that Billy will be paying for the tooth once they've worked out a "long- term plan". Angie wants Jarrod and Billy to make up now, but Karl says to leave it for now.
Karl tells Billy that his allowance will be halved until the bill is paid.
KARL: Did you start the fight?
BILLY: ...
KARL: Well, you're just going to have to grin and bear it, aren't you, which is more than young Toadfish can do right now!
(The following morning)
Karl is practising his putting while Billy does some studying. George comes around to see Billy. She tells him she wants an explanation about the fight. Billy says he's told her everything already, but she tells him she knows the fight was about Melissa. Billy suggests that they talk on the way to school.
Ramsay Street
Billy tells George that he does still like Melissa - they were together for a long time, but that's in the past now. He says he feels loyalty/protection towards her, but not love. They see Toadie but he just walks off.
Coffee Shop
Susan sees Andrew in the Coffee Shop. He tells her what Rupert said to him yesterday - in essence that gay people can't play a manly game like football. Susan says that Rupert is just one student - but Andrew is worried as Rupert is influential. He says he won't let it beat him though.
Lassiter's
A masked man is watching Andrew from a dirty car. He drives past and throws an egg at Andrew, shouting, "Watson, you loser". As the car drives away, the man removes his mask to reveal his identity - it's Rupert.
